There are 3 little spray bottles in this kit with yellow, red, & blue dye. It's easy to just spray on. I was going for the "ombre" look. So, I got my fabric wet, sprayed it on the end I wanted darker & hung it to dry outside. It turned out pretty cool. I probably should have worn latex gloves though. My cuticles were yellow for a day or two. :) Now I need to try some tie dye shirts.
If you are looking for a fun craft project to do with your grandkids or your own children or maybe even by yourself this is the perfect one for you. The SEI 6-1366 Tie Dye, Multicolor kit is so much fun. The kit comes with three multi colors. Mine has the primary colors of red, yellow, and blueberry which is a really pretty blue. It includes three spray bottles which have two fluid ounces each. I love that it is non-toxic so I feel safe when using the SEI Tie Dye set with my grandchildren. It was easy and ready to use when you take it out of the box. We laid newspapers down to prepare and protect our work area. While it does require some adult supervision my nine-year-old granddaughter did it and loved using it for her homeschool project. She read the directions and followed them carefully. The instructions are easy to read and simple to understand. You simply shake, then create, spray the colors you like and let it air dry. Then when it came time to heat set and finish up with ironing I did that part to finish up her beautiful tie dye creation. She was so proud and excited! Then it was an easy cleanup with soap and water when we were finished. The SEI Tie Dye is washable but when finished is a permanent dye that can be used on several different mediums. Some of these are fabrics, t-shirts, tablecloths, ribbons, lace, trims, silk, even dried flowers and baskets, word, paper and more. This is such a versatile product and you can do so many fun things with it. What a great find! I look forward to having more crafting fun with my grandchildren using the SEI Tie Dye.

I had never heard of a spray tie dye set before, but this completely blew me away! It's much easier for younger ones (son is 6 and used these way more successfully than the squirt bottles). The colors are super vibrant, the heat set almost makes them even brighter! We tried the basic scrunch method, the spiral and we tried stencils. Stencils were definitely user error, no fault of the kit. We still have plenty dye left, too! We did blue and green together, all three, and just pink and green and they all looked beautiful. The booklet that came with it was super helpful with instructions, ideas and color combos. Since they're pretty neon, it was nice to see how they actually blended! I'm excited to get other colored kits! I definitely recommend this especially for kids!
We had a blast doing this project. Face mask tie dye. Everyone likes them. The granddaughter and I had so much fun! I would recommend this to everyone. Easy to do. Thinking on making more.
A tidier way to tie dye your clothing and fabric items without destroying your buckets, tub and washing machine. I was a little hesitant when a friend suggested we get together to tie dye. I thought one massive mess. With this tie dye kit those worries are assuaged. You have spray bottles! You simply spray your item with the desired colors and design and scrunch, air dry and then set with iron. Easy and low mess! With other kits I had buckets and mess for hours!
I finally got to try my tie dye kit, I had surgery so was unable to try it when I got it. I have to say I really enjoyed making my shirt and this would be a great birthday party activity/favor for kids. I did the swirl effect and after placing rubber bands I had 8 pie slices to color. I dampened the shirt to get the bleeding effect. The colors I got were great, pretty vibrant. The colors in my kit are red, blue and yellow. I hung the shirt overnight to dry and opted to try the dryer for heat sealing vs blow drying it . I dried it for 30 minutes to ensure the seal. Clean up was a breeze I used a training pad to cover my counter surface and gloves on my hands that's it. The ONLY reason I'm giving this a 4 is because I haven't worn the shirt yet so I can't say how well the color holds up after being worn, washed and dried again but so far I love what I see. I have 2 grandkids with a third on the way and I am looking forward to making them all a tie dye shirt and maybe a onesie.
I tie dyed some burp cloths for a baby shower gift and it was fun to do. it gives a good bright fun vibe. I love tie dyed look. I have not washed them yet so I don't know how the colorfastness of it is yet. the kit comes with instructions and all you have to do is spray it on with a small spray pump. it comes pre mixed ad ready to go. the colors are hot pink, blue and yellow/green. the pink and blue makes a purple, and the yelllow and pink makes an orange. cool fun.
Tumble Dye is a “no prep needed” kit of pre-mixed permanent craft dyes. The dyes can be used to tie dye shirts or other fabric items but they can also be used on items like ribbon, lace, artificial flowers, baskets, and paper. Anyone else thinking “wedding”?! The kit I chose has 3 colors: red, blue, and yellow in 2 ounce spray bottles. You can also buy the dyes in quart size bottles. I like that the kit includes a helpful guide of instructions, tools and tips, a color chart on how to mix colors to create new colors, AND 6 design ideas with step by step instructions on each method. My kit also had a nice form letter about the family who owns the business, and links to online ideas and help. I love creating tie dye projects with my students and my own grandchildren but I hated the mess and all the preparations needed: tubs of water, and mix powder dyes. Tumble Dye is a product that is ready to use, right out of the box! And the whole process is simple! I chose to work in my garage. I covered a table with a trash bag on a table. I dampened a 100% cotton, white shirt, in order to allow the colors to spread. I chose to do a basic scrunched design. I scrunched several areas on the shirt by twisting the material into swirls. The kit instructions said no gloves needed but I used gloves just in case it got messy. I shook each bottle and simply sprayed each color onto different areas of my shirt. FYI: if you spray one color onto another it will create a new color! For example, every time some of the yellow made contact with blue, the area turned green. I finished the front of my shirt and immediately turned it over and repeated the process on the back of my shirt. I left the shirt laying on the trash bag until it dried. Last step: iron the shirt to set the colors. I will always wash the shirt in cold water. The colors are vibrant and the result was good considering it was my first time using this product. The only negative was the fact that one bottle leaked a little bit. Overall I'm happy with my shirt and plan to create a few more Tumble Dye items!
My kids have been begging to do this tie dye, so we finally did it on their spring break. I loved how simple the set up was. I would have loved if this package included rubber bands and plastic gloves. Spraying was very easy for my 5 and 7 Year olds. My 3 year old needed help. The spray bottles did leak from the top, but it was easy to spray the colors on top of each other to get new colors (i.e. purple and green). We did the dry method, which says it will cover 2-3 shirts. Our projects ended up with barely any color on them (and all of the dye was used). I would only recommend this product if you're using the wet method. Overall, if you've never give tie dye and are looking for a fool proof intro, this is a great option.
