I've been using Rit for as long as I can remember.. Generally I use the black to refresh my black clothing. I wanted to bring back the life to my dungarees; which had gotten washed out looking. I mixed the "denim blue" and the "navy blue" and the jeans look like I just bought them.. Great stuff.. I generally buy the liquid in the bottles but the powder has worked just as well for me.. So it's all good..
Excellent product thank you
Great to rejuvenate the color in my jeans and Jean jackets. I like to make one of my Jean jackets a super dark denim so I actually bought the black Rite dye as well and mix them together. Worked like a charm!
Worked very well to renew the color of old faded jeans. Dyed two pairs. One came out darker than the other, which is fine. I knew the first pair would soak up the dye the most. The second pair has good color though too. So you can dye two pair of jeans with one box pretty well.
Glad I found this product again. Used to use it years ago. Works great !!
the good stuff - DENIM is pretty dark and dull - but works great when you know what you are doing . Website has all the directions and tips.
I should have done prior research to know I needed 2 boxes for my project. The box instructions refer you to their website for full instructions. I found a YouTube video to be the most helpful. I followed everything to a T and still ended up with blotches. I sprayed the blotches with stain remover, washed two more times, and now it's fine. Not as dark as I had hoped, even with extended soaking in the dye bath, but it's a pretty, soft denim color.
Since buying this I've learned that Rit dye is more of a stain and has a propensity to eventually wash away. I won't be using it.
I bought 2 boxes and the first one I tried in my washing machine and it only covered a small amount of the coat I was trying to dye, so I tried the other box in a bucket and it pretty much did the same as the washer machine job . So I should have bought 4 boxes maybe next time it'll work. The ritz is not like it used to be, did they change the formula, because remembering back when hot water and a bucket worked very well.
