I bought this to replace my Nexus One, after two years. Of course time and technology has passed by the Nexus One. The SII has some of the best features for the moment and the screen is brilliant. The slight downside is that all these phones are getting a bit huge for my pant pockets. Seems unavoidable. Of course the visuals are more pleasing on a bigger screen. The SII also has HDMI output capability. So you ARE going to need that SD card. Now it only needs ICS firmware. It automatically upgraded without a hitch via OTA to the latest Gingerbread 2.3.6 after I activated the phone for a couple of hours. Photos are very good quality and Samsung's camera application includes a very good panorama feature. At 8 megapixles per shot, again you will need that SD card. The hardware is nearly the same as the Galaxy Nexus, which I also considered. However, I couldn't justify the Galaxy Nexus' additional $200 unlocked price. If you go with the network subscription you can save another $150 making a cost difference of $350. I am getting consistent 10Mbps or better downloads using Speedtest on TMobile in the Washington DC area. With the dual core processor, GPU, internal memory, the Samsung bloatware is nearly imperceptible. If you don't use some of the apps which come with the phone, do NOT upgrade them. This only consumes more resources for programs you don't use. Still early days, time will tell how the phone performs and how well Samsung supports this phone. However, if you are looking for one of the best high end Android based phone/PDA/mobile computer look no further...

The phone is awesome. Display quality, sound, and features rich. My only pet peeve, the touchscreen is very sensitive. Accidentally opening an app or dialing a number. Overall, is an awesome phone. With Tmobile 4G, the internet is fast and very enjoying...

After taking a couple of weeks to research the current phones out. I discovered on paper the s2 was the best choice. Now that I have it I still believe this. Beautiful display, 7 home screens. Very fast, live wallpaper, customize wallpaper, resize widgets and so much more. The driving mode is awesome. I have had the phone for 2 weeks now and can't stop playing with it. The only problem I had is the day i got it i went online to register my phone with samsung and when I took the back off it broke. The back is made of a very thin plastic. Great value for the cost. I still rate it 5 stars. Good job Samsung, your products can only get better now........

I want my LEDs!

Yes, feel free to sing the title of this review to the tune of "Money For Nothing" lyrics. I adore this phone, I just wish that T-mobile had actually left the notification LED intact & operable. There is a free app in the Marketplace (now called "Google Play") called No LED that basically runs as a screensaver service that kicks in when whatever apps you have it set up to monitor get a new notice & also shows how many with an icon for each of those apps that just move around the screen until you touch the hot button you set up/chose to use to turn off the screensaver & unlock your phone & go to those apps & take care of the notifications. Other than that, being my third Android phone, it is by far my favorite. Battery use is Amazing even when streaming video content in HD followed by streaming radio or playing mp3's either from your personal collection or your amazon or Google Music clouds. Eveyone kept telling me the screen size would make the phone to large & heavy for my hands. NOT true at all! It's only a bit larger than the first edition MyTouch4g, is very slim, and very light weight!

Just purchased the Galaxy S II; it is easy to familiarize oneself with right away. I have been a blackberry user for some time. It was nice to move to the touch screen and more visible keys. Still learning this phone but already love the comfort of the phone in my hands. Great phone for the capabilities and cost!

For a phone that's nearly a year old, this is almost near perfection. I would love to see the LED notifications on this as I miss that badly so far. Only concern is the battery door popping off too easily. Photos are just magnificent. Love some of the pre-installed apps such as photo editor and the photo gallery. This phone design is awesome, it fits in the hand very nicely, display is most unique and beautiful, call clarity is crisp, and overall it is a great purchase.
