Came already assembled, and does exactly what you need it to do, help you get fit. Check your tension as mine was at the highest tension level when I received mine, of course I didn't notice till after because I just figured I'm just that it of shape. I don't think it makes much noise but I like the twist it gives.
Purchased the stair stepper for my wife and thought I might have to perform some assembly work but was surprised to find the product ready to use right out of the box. Even the batteries were already installed. The product looks and feels sturdy and appears to be well built. The cable motion is very quiet while my wife's using it, with the only sound coming from the pedal hitting the base as she steps down. There's a timer built into the stepper that shows the time, number of steps taken and calories burned. The on/off button for the timer goes off on it's own after a few minutes of non use so no worries wasting battery power. My wife's happy with the performance and durability and for just $5 more we purchased the extended warranty so feel overall this was a great buy.
Comes already assembled, it's light weight, easy to use, great size for small spaces, can notice the effects within a week. It has an useful digital timer measuring the amount of steps you take. Use it at your own pace whether you want a hard work out, or to go easy. Great calorie burner, less stress on your knees and ankles than jogging. Highly recommended. Can't tell yet how durable it is, it looks sturdy for its size. Only been using it for about 6 straight days.
great stepper really gives a good work out, but I have to start off slow
I usually don't review any purchases but I feel compelled to review this one. I have had this for a couple of weeks so far and have used it every other day. I have it placed right in front of my television. When I'm watching the Food Network, E! News, or any other TV entertainment, I use it. I get my workout in and burn calories without even noticing. For someone who is a mom to a young infant, going to the gym is not always possible because of child care arrangements. This is the next best thing and a great addition to an active lifestyle.
I got this to replace one that the shocks had gone out on :( this one is sturdy, seems well built and I like the slight twist to each step, feels better on the hips. I am having issues with the little counter/computer thing, half the time it doesn't work and the other half of the time the steps counter is wrong! Over all, I would recommend this, my kids use it as well.
I am very pleased with my twist n step!! I can feel in working the muscles in my legs and depending on how much you want to "twist", you can feel it working some upper core muscles. :-) It is great because I have limited time and space for working out, with being a busy mom working fulltime. It barely takes up any space and is so easy to use! This allows me to do 10-20 minutes on my lunch breaks and then 30-1hour at night while watching a TV show.
Background: I got this to get some cardio in during the winter because I absolutely hate venturing out in the cold. I own an automatic treadmill as well, but I haven't used it much since I've moved into my current apartment. I live on the second floor in an older style home so the floors creak a lot. My downstairs neighbor is retired so he's not out much. Basically I bought this item to work out indoors silently without bothering my neighbor. My major gripe with this stepper is that there's no cushioning of any sort to absorb the shock when the pedal gets pushed all the way down. So if I was the downstairs neighbor, I'd be wondering why my upstairs neighbor is knocking on the floor all the time. Since the noise is due to the point of contact between the stepper and the floor, even using it on a carpeted surface doesn't help much, because the "thump thump" from impact still travels down to my neighbor's. And the minor gripe: the mechanism works by having a tension rope type of thing on a wheel which rotates between the steps - which is squeaky enough to be annoying to me but probably not my neighbor. The squeaking didnt help with WD40 for me. Other than the noise issue for me, I do like the stepper. Price is okay. It does what it says it does. I opted not to attach the resistant tubes so I can't comment on that. Displays are working well (but I've only had this for 2 weeks). It's portable which is great - I've even used it while brushing my teeth or doing my dishes. My shipment arrived in perfect condition. The weight capacity for this stepper is 250lbs in case anyone is curious. It offers decent resistance to serve my purpose (maintaining). I would recommend this for those beginning to exercise or those that are just maintaining, but not necessarily for those that are looking to replace their cardio routine exclusively with this equipment.
Small but perfect for me. I needed a decent piece of equipment for home use and this works great. Do not hesitate to purchase.
The electronic display was not working when received. I called company and they talked me thru fix. It turned out to be a dead battery. They sent me a replacement with battery included. Arrived in 2 days. Support was wonderful. It seems sturdy and is small enough to keep handy in family room for easy access.
