We purchased this rack 3 weeks ago and have already put several trips on it. It holds both my 15 year old "mountain climber" and the wife's new state of the art off road bike even though the frames are very different. I have had no problems loading, unloading, mounting or storing the rack. It provides for easy access to the back of the Cherokee with or with out both bikes on it.
Excellent bike rack for my SUV. The swivel down feature works well when opening the rear gate, without having to remove the rack. Well priced...
i do not travel alot, but wanted to take my bike on some journeys and this was a great buy. Inexpensive and durable. you will need to get a lock for your bike, but most probably already have one. I am happy to be able to take my bike with me now, without taking it apart!
Allen bike carriers are among the best quality and the online price here is a steal - about half of the normal street price. Sturdy and well engineered with one exception in my case. The unit tilts away from the car so you can open the rear on hatchback styled SUV's but the base still sticks up too high for vehicles with a tailgate. Forget that even once and you'll end up with an expensive 2" square hole in your tailgate. ouch... On the plus side, it also does commendably well as a wheelchair carrier. It's easy enough for elderly to swing it down and attach the chair, then swing back up and lock in place one handed. I'd recommend this carrier over any other sold on Walmart.com. It's a popular item and you can find many positive reviews for it on the internet.
