I researched for dual room montitors for quite some time and this was the only product I could find. It works well, does exactly what it says it does. I like the rechargeable batteries instead of disposables. I did have a problem with one of the charging bases not working but after calling Graco's 1-800 number they shipped me a new one at no cost right away. I would recommend for anyone who needs to hear 2 different rooms.
I absolutely loved these monitors. i tried out EVERYTHING and found these to be the most economical and handy. i love that i can put a monitor in both kid's bedrooms, and listen to them with just one handset because the handset switches between rooms every 10sec, 30 sec, 1 min, or 3 min, whatever i set it too. and if i just want to listen to one room, i can set my handset to that too! the sound is clear and sharp, without any background noise or static! very impressed, since i was shopping around for months looking for something like this!
We had the same style Graco monitor with just the single room option. We are very happy with the 2-child one as well. It is easy to use, and generally works well. I can walk out to our barn and it still works - good peace of mind. I really like that I can control how long it "listens" to each room. I would recommend this to any one that wants to listen to 2 rooms w/o worry of interference.
This monitor was well worth the money. I'm not sure why no store carries it - I was only able to buy online, but it's a great monitor and perfect for monitoring two children in two different rooms. I love that each parent unit has a rechargable battery so it can easily come off the base and be carried outside or into another room.
This product is ideal if you have 2 children or even 2 rooms you need it in for one child. It is everything it is advertised to be. I would definitely recommend this product.
I recently had my third baby who would be receiving her own room (my 2 older children are boys and share a room), and knew I needed to find a monitor that would allow me to listen to both rooms at the same time. I started the search for a two room monitor and found myself on a very short path! I basically had two options - a video monitor or the Graco Multi Child Monitor. I knew i did not want the video monitor - too expensive and unnecessary in my opinion. After reading the reviews of the Graco monitor, i became very discouraged and a little worried to purchase it. My only other option was to find two monitors that didn't interfere with each other. Yeah right. That's a near impossible feat. So, after much research, i decided to get the Graco monitor and hope for the best. Well, so far it has been a good move on my part!! I LOVE it. Some reviews said it was hard to understand how to set it up. I disagree... it comes with a "quick start" one page sheet (besides the manual) and i was able to quickly set it up for both rooms just using that guide. I didn't need the manual at all. It's as simple as moving the switch to room 1 or room 2 then holding down the timer button and pressing the arrow button. Really simple. I get great reception. Our bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. I have one receiver in my bedroom on the same floor, and one receiver in the kitchen on the 1st floor. I never have an issue of losing contact with the parent units or any bad reception. The one and only thing that I can think of that needs improvment is the volume. The highest volume doesn't seem very high and can easily be too quiet while i'm washing dishes or watching tv in the next room or something that is louder than normal. But, the fact that you can easily pick the receiver up off of the base and carry it with you wirelessly is wonderful!! I would recommend this product to anyone who has children in 2 different rooms. It really makes hearing both rooms very simple. This is a good product, and hopefully more monitor brands will come out with something like this to give consumers more of a choice and drive the price down a little. But, I would say this is worth the slightly high price tag to not have to find two monitors that won't interfere with each other.
I have a 20 month old and a newborn. And I was just not ready to give up monitoring my oldest!! My husband bought and returned 3 different monitors and every one of them conflicted with the original monitor we had for our toddler. I started looking for a multiple room monitor only to find that there aren't many out there. And the only one I found that was available in an actual store was this one. But I was concerned when reading the reviews, they weren't good. However, my desire to keep an ear on both kids won out and I sent the hubby to purchase this one, since we decided it could be returned if it really was that bad. When my hubby took it out and started setting it up, it was a little confusing. But reading through the instructions and playing with it for awhile we now have it figured out. There haven't been any issues with static, or crossover. Our neighbors recently purchased a monitor that conflicted with the toddlers old one. We could hear every conversation that they had if we changed it to the other channel. But no problems with the imonitor. It is much more secure, and we feel confident that our neighbors aren't hearing OUR conversations. Plus, the receivers have a beeping feature if you are out of range or if the battery is low. Which we find reassuring, and in our <2000 sq. ft. house, hasn't been a problem yet. We haven't really taken it outside much, but like knowing that we'll be alerted if we are out of range. The fact that it has rechargeable batteries and a cradle to sit it in when portable monitoring isn't necessary is a great feature. The receivers switch channels between the 2 rooms as often as you choose, and each room can be monitored for a longer (or shorter) amount of time than the other. Which works well since I'd rather hear the newborn longer than the toddler during naps. I set it to monitor the newborn for 30 secs and the toddler for only 10. Or you can choose to monitor one room only. The only real problem with the imonitor, is that it does take some real patience and practice to figure out how it works. There are buttons to set the time and volume, to turn it off and to choose which room you are setting the volume or time for. The sound is very clear. The price is a little high, but for all the customization you get, plus the benefit of only having to carry one receiver with you, it is well worth it. I would recommend the imonitor to any new parent, and if you are planning to have 2 kids to monitor at once, you should just get it during your first pregnancy, and save the money you'd spend on a single one.
I was so happy to find a monitor system that lets me carry one monitor for two rooms! Only thing to watch out for is we experienced a little feedback and loss of signal when I accidentally put a decorative tin near one of the bases. I move the tin and the feedback, etc stopped. I bought this system because of the range and the dual room monitoring capability, only thing I wish it had was the vibrate feature that comes on the single room monitors.
We have 2 children under the age of 2 and need to listen to both. When I began looking for a monitor that I could use, I couldn't find any other product that would listen to both children without having to buy 2 different sets of monitors. At first, I tried using 2 sets of monitors, but they constantly interfered with eachother. This product is rather expensive, but it's the only one. I can hear the babies quite well and it allows me to choose to listen to the older one a shorter amount of time than the younger one. I really like that it has a charger and rechargable batteries on the parent device so we can carry it around. Overall, it's a good product.
I needed a monitor that could monitor 2 separate bedrooms at the same time and this is literally the only one I could find that offered that. I thought that the price tag was a little steep, but didn't have much choice in the matter. So far it works good. Just a tip, make sure you install back up batteries in the bases because if your power goes out and there are no batteries, it will shut off and won't turn back on by itself. So if the power goes out while you are sleeping, you won't know that the monitor is off.
