I bought this a month ago and it's great I bought this or my daughters room because she is autistic the picture is clear love all the different features and it was super easy to install I wish I would of got this product sooner and like the fact that it's comparability for four cameras
So when I had my daughter two years ago I would have loved, LOVED to have had a baby monitor this cool. It is amazingly cool. Its almost like a smart phone, and it works with my smart phone. But I will get to that later. Basic features that all baby monitors have, clear reception, I can even hear my son sigh in his sleep. The clearness of the picture is really good much better than my old baby montior which was kind of grainy. It has a night light that you can control from the video monitor. You can control everything from the video monitor, the soothing sounds, which is awesome cause can turn on and turn off from your room and don't have to move around the house on tip toe and go into their room and pray that you don't wake them in the process of programming or turning on or off. You can take pictures, and record video (with and sb card) talk to your child you can do all that and you can also hook it up to your smartphone and see all that from your phone and share on whatever sharing features you currently have on your phone. I have a motorola droid and it worked just fine. I know a lot of folks might have technical difficulties it sounded like when I went to install the app on the google play store but I did not have any trouble with that. The camera also allows you to zoom in on your child and moves to the left and right which you can control from the video console to get a better look. All in all I believe this monitor is the wave of the future in baby monitroing and right now is one of the most progressive baby monitors out there. The only pet peeve I have with it is I wish the camera cord was a bit longer to reach the outlet since they are installed on the walls sometimes a bit high. And, I wish that the soothing sounds would stay on the one you like or find most soothing instead of cycling through. Either way, its a lovely monitor, just lovely and like I said I WISH it would have been around two years ago when I had my daughter I would have bought this one instead!
Loving this monitor so far. Picture is completely clear (even at night when the room is pitch black), sound is perfect, and I love that you can talk back so my daughter can hear me say that I'm coming to get her when she wakes up in the morning. It plays music, but that function is useless for us- it scares my daughter, but it would probably soothe an infant. We had a summer monitor before and it just stopped working after 3 years, but the picture was never this clear and there was no talk-back function. We'll see how long this one lasts, but I have high hopes :) Please note: When I purchased this product I thought I would be able to stream the video thru the net so I could see what was going on through my phone if we had a babysitter in the house- but this one doesn't have that option. (The product never stated it had this option, I just read a user-review that must have posted for the wrong product- so incase that review has not been removed- don't fall for it!)
I cannot believe how easy this was to set up, I thought I was going to have to pair the devices or something like that. NOPE, plug them in and they worked right away. Video quality is great, even with fast movement it doesn't get choppy, and sound quality is good as well. Definitely recommend.
I watch my Granddaughter everyday and this makes my life easier, it's hard to get anything done and keep a eye on her at all times, so I have the camera in her room, now I can get other things done and watch her while she's playing I can carry the monitor with me because it can go wireless ,if it gets to quiet all I have to do is check the monitor, I really like that I can talk to her through it, so she knows i'm still here and know's I see what she's doing . I haven't had it to long so have not had to use everything it has to offer and don't know if I ever will, lol. First of all if you plan on taking pictures or videos with it you'll have to purchase a SD card and if you plan on uploading you'll need a USB cord to,if you want to remotely connect to your camera you need to purchase a WiFi cradle. So even though it offers a lot of features you need to purchase all the accessories to use them. I didn't purchase them yet so didn't get to take pictures or video, but everything is very high quality so I don't foresee any trouble using them. Setup was very easy and I think anybody can do it with no problem. I really like the temperature feature. The night vision works really well I was very surprised. Over all I love it, but don't like that I have to buy seperate things to use them all for the money they could have at least giving a SD card.
We have had our about a month now and have tested it just watching our 8 year old play since our newborn won't be here for another month, but it seems to work great. We have had no problems so far. There does have to be enough lighting in the room for the camera to work in color mode we noticed, but other than that no problem. Best value we found on one that does everything we wanted it to do.
This baby monitor is extremely easy to use. You literally can just take it out of the box and plug it in and it works. There are a lot of great features including: nightlight, which can be turned on remotely as well; ability to speak to your child through the monitor; ability to play calming sounds (ocean waves, birds chirping, etc.); ability to zoom in and move the camera. The video shows pretty clearly even in a low lit room. The battery life lasts a long time as well so if you need to unplug it, its easy to bring it to another room for an extended period of time. There are other features I did not use as it requires you to purchase other accessories, such as additional cameras to have 4-camera view or an internet accessory to view from your iPhone. Overall, I would recommend this baby monitor for its good value and features.
I used this baby monitor for a couple of weeks at the same time I was using another brand baby monitor by "Summer Infant ultra sight". It has both positives and negatives and I have some feedback for the vendor as well - Positives: Extremely plug and play - the monitor connected automagically without any setup. All it needed was charging for about 4 hours and then it lasted about 4 hours for me while the video remained on. The number of options on the handheld monitor was a lot but the interface is pretty easy to use, with a separate button for everything. Another good things is that the power adapters for both camera and monitor are the same. The power adapters I the Summer Infant are different, and it really is irritating to have to read which one is which before connecting. The other thing is that besides being able to talk to the baby, I could remotely turn on music or night lights on the camera to sooth the baby – nice! Its easy to use this overall, has good range and charge and has just enough features Negatives: the colors feel very drained. Even though they are still better than the Summer infant, I think the build quality could have been better at this price. The manual that came with this mentions a site called Lorexbaby.com/away, but this link doesn't work, so It's not clear at all if I can purchase a wifi cradle to use with this and where I could purchase the wifi cradle. I couldn't find it on any online site. Vendor – please fix it!
This monitor is simple to use, functional, and serves the purpose of making sure you can securely view and hear your baby. We had a more expensive, top brand monitor that didn't compare to this one. The only reason I am knocking 1 star is that the viewing monitor doesn't have an off setting - only the camera does. Other than that, very happy with this one and I would recommend it!
we purchased this monitor during boxing day week because it was a good price. We needed it to replace another video monitor that stopped working. Overall this is a poor quality device. The led night vision lights produce a white haze over the child at night. There is no adjustment (brightness adjustment does not help) that works. The 'soothing sounds' are frightening and harsh. What baby wants to hear birds squaking to put them to bed? You cannot pick only one of the sounds to play at a time, instead you have no choice and have to listen to them play in rotation. The reception was also poor. The baby's room is 2 doors down from our Master room and the audio consistently cut out. We tested this monitor for about 1 week along side by side along the Lorex Sweet Peak which is a much better monitor. None of the above problems exist and the sounds are real lullabies. Although the sweet peak is cheaper, it is a much better quality monitor proving more expensive is not always better.
