We utilized this gate to cut our living room in half, using the entire 144 inches. It does screw into the wall but needs to due to the length. It works wonderfully to keep baby contained away from the tv and bookcase. I read reviews about it being loose at the middle point (only way to strengthen the middle would be to drill into the floor) but it's sturdy enough for our 10 mo baby to stand up on and shake for fun. My only concern is that our dog is awfully interested in the new gate. With it make of netting and cloth, I'm hoping the dog doesn't decide to find her own way in.
We have a 70inch opening between the dining and living room, and so far has been great! keeps my youngest out of the dining area. My oldest son is 6 years old and can easily open and close the gate himself (which I like being his bedroom is passed the dining room, I didn't want to be opening and closing it 100x a day) so this was definitely a good buy!
We have a very open concept home so it was challenging to find a gate that would fit the large openings. This one does the job perfectly for us. I like that there is a door that I could walk through (although it is a bit challenging to open and close with just one hand). You also have the option of using just 2 or 3 of the panels. The panel sizes are adjustable. The only downside was that it was advertised to fit 144" openings but when you get the box, it states it is only for 141". Ours was 143" so we had to secure blocks of wood on the wall to anchor the gate from there instead. Delivery was unexpectedly quick. Overall, very happy with this purchase, especially in light of its low cost when compared to similar products.
I looked around for a gate that attached to the wall, online and in stores, this was the only one I was abe to find. It was EXACTLY what I needed to keep my husband's office space out of reach from our 2 year old. The gate makes it easy for him and I to go in and out, but locks in a way that keeps little one out.
I Love this gate! i Took off one of the panels and use just one and the gate to separate my living room and kitchen. When Christmas comes i will reattach the panel and use it to keep my Little one away from our Christmas tree. I was a little awkward to install because its so big and i was doing it by myself. but otherwise it was easy!very sturdy and doorway is nice and wide.
This item is what I really expected it to be, just needed to alter a little due to having carpet and tile floors.I'm really satisfied. Lisha9488
Bought this for our 11 month old to keep her in the carpeted area of the basement to play. It does a great job of providing that barrier for a large area. we have it stretched out around 1o feet and there is still more room if we had needed it. I would recommend using it on carpet as the middle can move a bit on a hard smoth surface. It's pretty sturdy I don't really like the door on it...it's kinda hard to close at first until you get use to it. Over all we have had it for a couple of weeks and it has kept her in the area we want her in to play at night.
Gate was fairly easy to assemble. It has worked well as a barrier to the kitchen. The only issue I have had with this gate is that sometimes it is difficult to get the door to line up with the latch.
This gate was purchased to close off an open room into a play area for my grandchildren (ages 4 yrs. and 17 months). It works perfectly! Installation is quite simple with clear instructions and the gate is easy for adults to open but child proof. I ordered ship to store delivery with free shipping and it arrived even earlier than expected. I received a text message informing me of it's arrival! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that after assembly there is a small bar across the floor at the gate entrance that you have to step over but it's necessary for stability of the product. Great service and product, Walmart!
When this gate I arrived I was excited because I needed something long enough to block off my 17mth old twins from my formal area. Well,I thought I would be able to install this product on my own but I had to call in some reinforcement because the bottom brackets that attach to the wall hit at my baseboards & I didn't want to damage them. We were able to come up with an alternative & get it installed within minutes. My first problem was that the gate looked cheap & was an eye sore; secondly, I didn't like how the gate was easily moved by my twins at the hinges near the gate door...they were able to push & pull/slide it back & forward; thirdly, the gate door didn't always catch once opened then closed...I would have to manually pull it tight. Overall, this product didn't make it a full week in my home & has been returned.
