We had a nice bassinet for my son (2 years old) but was not happy with it because he decided that he was a belly sleeper from the start!! We could (and still cannot) get him to sleep on his back!! I wasn't comfortable with him doing that in a small bassinet that has semi-curved sides. I have always been interested in a co-sleeper and this one caught my eye because of the space it saves!! My son sleeps very well in it and my favorite part is the side that folds down because I can just reach over and rub his back, head or put the binky back in and it doesn't hurt my arm. It's a bit heavy when it's all folded up (but aren't all pack and plays?) and I had trouble figuring it out, but that doesn't say much. My husband had it together in 5 minutes.
We love this product and cant imagine how we would have gotten through those first few months without it. The Co-Sleeper has been a life (and sleep) saver for us all.
There are straps that anchor this thing to your bed. I didnt even have to get up.... (lazy) I'd Just roll over and pick him up and send my husband for the bottle..
The best laid plans never turn out as most anybody who has had a baby could tell you. I intended to nurse my baby and thought this would be an easier way to accomplish that. As it happened, my baby showed up five weeks early, spending almost a week in NICU and I never could get him to nurse so that went out the window. I was still not disappointed in this bassinet though as it is made so much sturdier than most bassinets. The main reason why I was fortunate to have bought this bassinet is because my baby had terrible acid reflux and has spent every night sleeping in his car seat which fits perfectly in this bassinet. I don't know what I would have done without that. 7 months later that is still the way he sleeps and will continue to until the acid reflux has calmed down. I would have completely wasted my money had I bought a "traditional" bassinet. For my family, this bassinet has truly been a lifesaver!
This product was great for me when recovering from a c-section. It is incredibly sturdy, fitting snugly next to the bed. The directions need to be followed exactly, but I was able to memorize them after one attempt. I did need extension legs for my bed, and they were a bit pricey. It also fit perfectly in my little room. My son was a big baby (over 10 pounds) so we were happy that it has a heavier weight limit than most other bassinets.
Love it! As a nursing mom I couldn't live without it. We actually have two, one for home and one for grandma's house. Worth every penny!
My only slight issue was the initial setting up process, but my husband likes to try to figure it out without reading all the instructions first, so I'm sure that's his fault. It's very sturdy, moves easily if you need it to move, and is comfy for baby.
We don't use the "co-sleeper" feature at all, the baby's happy sleeping in a crib. Still, this is a solid, well-built, perfectly sized bassinet. It's portable enough that we can keep it in whatever room we're in (unlike the crib). If we're holding the baby and the phone rings, or we have to get up, or we want to make something to eat, or whatever, we have a perfect place to set the baby that's safe and comfortable. I look forward to using the playpen feature, too. Setup isn't difficult, but it took about 30 minutes (could probably do it in 10 with practice). The setup time and the fairly heavy weight mean I doubt we'll use it for travel. It's not great for everything, but it's good enough as a "move-it-around-the-house-bassinet" that I would definitely recommend it.
I have been searching for a bassinet for months, so when I found this one and read the reviews I really wanted it. It is made very nicely. It was a bit tough to put together. When I read that it came with a travel bag I liked it more. But when I put it together it was so heavy. There is no way that I would be able to travel with 2 kids and this hefty thing. I really like the idea that it could be used as a playard as well. What I hate about it and alot of people complained about it was the mattress. It is so cheap and uncomfortable for paying a good amount of money for it. Because the mattress was folded in the box, it still has the folds in it even after a week and a half. I hate that, my son really doesn't seem comfy in it. I really am thinking about returning it. The mattress is the most important part, I shouldn't have to purchase another(which was what I was thinking to do). I really wanted to love it but it may go back. It is a great concept and really is made well, so I do recommend it, but if you are thinking about traveling by plane with it I don't think it will work.
My daughter refuses to sleep or nap in this co-sleeper. The mattress is hard and she prefers more plush surroundings. Hopefully will get some use out of play yard later.
