I am a daycare provider and wanted an all-in -one unit for a newborn in my care. This is just what I needed. It was easy to set up, is very sturdy and has storage for diapers. burp cloths etc. Because it is in my dining room and will be used for both boys and girls, I chose this color.
This product is really nice looking once it is together but putting it together, especially at 8 months pregnant, was a little frustrating since it only has photo directions. It didn't require tools but its not light and the pieces didn't snap together as easily as the photos show. Also, once I put it together, it didn't fit through the doorways in the house so I had to take the changing table and bassinet back off and fold it up to move it to a different room.
I use this pack and play daily as a bassinet for my 11 week old son. It is great to have as we like to have Adam nap near by sometimes and in the beginning he slept in it in our room. The features are a little lacking. The mobile is useless as there is no crank or batteries so you would have to actually move it yourself, what is the point of that? We took ours off since it is not stimulating. Also the white noise maker has a timer feature which is nice but sometimes we'd like it to stay on longer but it automatically shuts off. It would be nice if it were an option and not the only way. The changing table is good but when Adam was small he would tilt to the left, now that he is heavier it stays level. I do think it is safe, as long as you don't leave the baby unattended but you shouldn't do that anyway. Overall, I like this pack and play but had I realized the mobile feature was so basic I may have paid a little more (or bought the one for less at babies r us) that came with a crank mobile.
We used this as a bassinet for the first few months after we brought our daughter home. Great bassinet! Folds down nicely for travel. Only complaint is the changing table slopes down and the mobile is easily knocked over.
