I have had this camera for 5 months and I am very pleased with it. It took me about 45 minutes from the time I took it out of the box to the time it was installed and recording. The night vision is outstanding. It sees almost as good at night as it does during the day. The audio is clear. I could not be happier.
At night, Like day time. That how good they work. 2-way audio works very good. Best ones I have ever used. I just put in for 2 more,So my system is using all four on my home.. LW2701AC1 if you need more to this set.
I picked this up because I needed a 2 camera system & wanted to try wireless for easier setup (although I question whether needing power at the camera location is any easier- at least with a wired camera you just run the one power/av cable back to the dvr/box and plug in). It is a great idea to record to ssd's like memory cards- no hard drive running 24/7 is good for less electricity usage and wear. But 16gb is the max, which is pretty limited. The manual says 8gb should give ~14hrs recording (one camera) @640x480 so you'll get about a full day recorded with 16gb. No good for continuous recording, but probably ok for minimal motion or timed recordings, or just use it to view multiple areas live. The video quality is terrible; really reminds me of baby monitors I've had in the past. So grainy- even when hooked up to a tv w/the av cable. Lots of motion blur, even from a person just walking; don't even try to ID a car driving by. IR's for night viewing are certainly bright for only 12, but anything/anyone closer than 10-15' from the camera is totally white washed out(you can't tell who they are). The IR's only really light up the center 1/3 of the screen. The AV cable is a little headphone jack for the monitor, and 1 rca for video & 1rca for audio. You have to press a button on the monitor to talk from cameras, which sounds pretty good; but talking into the cameras is faint at the monitor (oddly, you can hear cars driving by louder). Has a cheap little remote that i'm sure i'd lose. It has membrane buttons that don't feel like they'll last long. No network capability for ~$400?! Will display 4 cameras at once, but you can only record from one at a time, and you can't do anything else while recording. You can turn up the alarm beeper for when motion is detected (detects outside of camera view). Cameras are metal housing w/tiny little antennas. Worked with about 50 ft between cams & monitor, through plaster walls. Has a nice little bar scale to indicate wireless strength on-screen. Comes w/a 2gb card which is pretty limiting. So simple to setup and the menus are easy to navigate. I think it records in .avi The camera mounts are not the greatest; you can't seem to tighten them firmly enough on their pivot ball. This is a system to be used when you just want to have a recording of "someone" doing something at some time- you might not be able to ID them at all. You don't care much about picture quality, and just want something easy & quick. But at a high price (the typical 50-80% security cam markup). I don't see how this thing can sell for more than $200. Sleek looking cameras and a nice black screen don't justify 2x the price. $100 more gets you into the network/internet dvr+cams range, with better cameras too.
