I had to get the directions to find where to insert the batteries. This is a giant toy that will be difficult to fly but has many compartments and buttons and sounds. I think it will be very entertaining for my grandson.
Our 9yr old son is a star wars fanatic and LOVES this toy! He plays with it daily and he's had it almost a couple of months. The only thing that bugs me (besides the expensive price tag) is that it has to rest on the stands because it's too big and heavy to pretend it's flying and the stands are forever falling off! Some snap on really well (you have to make sure you put them in the correct place) but without fail at the end of play time it's rocking back and forth on the guns underneathe. I really wish they'd have made a more sturdy surface for it to rest on. Other than that it's All good! We love the lights, sounds and discover something new and fun almost everytime we play with it.
I bought this for my son for christmas, but i couldnt wait any more, wanted him to have it early. Its way cooler then the 70s one i had lol. However, the land gear doesnt stay popped in very well other then that its a very nice tool with great features.
Flat out AWESOME! I wish the ones that they had made when I was a child would have had the features that this one has. My five year old son and eight year old daughter both love it. The "Wow" factor still puts a smile on both my wife's and my face each night when we push the sound effects buttons as we put our son to bed. Mom's-just think of this as the Barbie Town House for boys. The price seems a bit high but the enjoyment you'll get from listening to your little Jedi role playing will be priceless. Worth the $$$. A word of advice, a dab of hot glue will help keep the landing gear in place during the more intense "battles".
This is truly a great toy... but huge! The detail of the ship is awesome, far superior to the Millennium Falcon I played with in the 80's. The lights are vibrant, the audio voices are authentic duplicates from Episode IV, and sound effects are realistic. This toy however, is not a ship a child will be flying through the home. At over two and a half feet long, it is probably at least half the size of the child who receives it. The gargantuan size makes this toy more of an immobile play set (like a castle, base, or house) than a flying starship. However, the size and numerous features of this toy does make sharing it a little easier because while one child is creating stories in one part of the ship (say the medical bay), the other will be creating and cooperating from another part of the ship (like the Jedi-training area or the cockpit). The only thing about this product that I would like to see improved, aside from the $, as another review mentioned, is the landing gear. The landing gear, which is designed to give before something breaks, is unstable and grossly inadequate to support the weight of this toy and the constant jarring of the toy while being played with. Overall, if that is the only problem that arises with this toy, I could not be happier with the purchase.
No, it isn't really meant for your young ones to be playing with - although, they can if you wish them to do so - but it is more along the lines of the collecter's item. It is a heavy item, so, unless your 7-year old is on the high school wrestling team, I wouldn't count on him "flying" it around the house.
Purchased this for my 4 year old who absolutely LOVES IT. This is a very interactive toy with lots of buttons, compartments and sound effects to keep any child happy for hours. My husband laughed when I told him it was a Dollhouse for Boys, but its true! There is lots of things for him to play make believe with. A must for your little Star Wars fan.
The Falcon is huge and my 8 year old son adores it. Yes, the landing gear falls off easily and the sounds are loud and annoying to this mom - but, my son loves it and will play with it and his action figures for hours. A great toy for a Star Wars fanatic!
My son did love the product and the overall size of it. Once we installed the batteries, he liked playing with all the sounds. We had bought some extra action figures so he is having a great time playing. One item that really keeps annoying him is the legs that support the ship keep falling off everytime he picks it up and puts it down. You need to be really steady and level with it (which is hard for a 7 year old). Personally, I found it a bit pricy, but it puts a smile on his face.
This is a Christmas present for my son. It is to stop him and his 36 year old uncle from fighting over the ORIGINAL Falcon that his uncle received for Christmas some 25+ years ago. Fingers crossed that this works!
