I have owned a 40 volt trimmer for some time now and there were many times when I was trimming I would come across heavier brush that the 40 volt could not handle or would take a few passes to cut down ! have a number of your 40 and 80 volt tools of which I am pleased with . I tested a couple of them and tried sending you feedback on how they were working ! I was really happy when I saw your 80 volt trimmer that said ATTACHMENT CAPABLE , thats what peaked my interest the most ! I have gas powered equipment with most of the attachments and was I even happier when I ordered your larger weed eater ,the first thing I did was get my gas attachments and checked to see if they really were compatible with yours ! Was I a Happy camper . I,d take it to my other property and decided to get a second one so I would have one at each location ! You have outdone yourselves ! I bought this tool about 3 months ago. I did a lot of research after my first purchase of electric yard equipment turned out to be a big mistake. But I'm really really happy with this equipment. I'm so happy I've actually bought two more pieces of Greenworks equipment (the backpack blower and the hedge trimmer attachment which I swap with the string trimmer attachment)
works extremely well , no complaints getting an aftermarket brush blade to fit can be a bit of a challenge do your research , in particular finding the correct size nut , not all adapter kits are created equal , i had to piece it together separately
I'm a guy who likes to tinker on small engines as a hobby. And I drive a diesel. So I would be the last guy to go electric. But a buddy let me try his 80v string trimmer and wow -- now I'll never go back! I'm thrilled with the ease of use. Zero prep time, just start cutting. It cuts the total job time in half. And the battery life is amazing. I can do 3 full trims and still don't need to charge it. Highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] String trimmer that spins up to its potential. Even though it uses a smaller diameter string, it cuts as well as my previous gas powered trimmers. A bit heavy with the battery but well balanced where you forget the weight. No gas or oil or fumes. Have used with some older attachments which connect as before but do tend to drag down the 2 Ah battery quicker than I would like but gives you a reason to rest and reset with another charged battery.
The power and cutting abilities has been equal and maybe even greater than my last gas powered trimmer. The line that came with the trimmer is super strong and I was able to cut thick weeds. I'll be investing in attachments such as a hedge trimmer.
I like almost everything about this unit. Works well with my attachments. The only two things I don't care for are that I have a really big yard and I can't trim it all on one charge. If I get a second battery down the road, that won't be a problem. Second, I wish they would design the trigger so that it felt more like a gas trimmer when you pull it instead of having that long delay to get going. You get used to it after a while. Other than that, this thing is super quiet and works great!
The trimmer is a solid built. It would have been a 5 star if they have a lock-down system for the trigger-start after the trimmer started spinning. Because they don't have this lock-down system. It is very tiring on the hand constantly holding on the trigger-start while trimming. It would also been very helpful to list all attachments in the booklet that this trimmer could handle. But don't have this information. Left me in the dark, and I had to get the information from else where.
It's pretty well built, well balanced. However it's unusable by all but the casual ocassional use because there is a 3-4 second delay between pressing the throttle and the head spinning full speed. This is a prohibitive setup, and makes efficiency and any semblance of productivity all but impossible. If they would fix that ONE problem I would buy THREE of them. I own the 80V mower and 80V Pro Blower and love both of them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was exited to purchase this weed trimmer because I purchased the 21 inch 80 volt lawn mower and leaf blower, which have been amazing! Now I received this trimmer which is missing hardware and I can't even put it together properly to use.
