Though I've been a fan of Jack Link's jerky for a while, over time, I have begun to notice...flaws that has since made me seek other brands. Mainly that the meat in most of their jerky flavors seems...fake; it appears smooth and glazed over while lacking flexibility and being incredibly tough to chew. In short: it doesn't even resemble meat anymore. However, this doesn't seem to be the case with the Sriracha flavor, for some reason. Rather than the usual sub-par quality I've come to expect from most of their flavors, the sriracha actually feels, looks, and chews like real meat coated in a processed sriracha powder. It's like eating peppered ground beef at a summer BBQ...if the ground beef had a bit of gristle, but you can eat around that with almost no problems. Looking through the ingredients, the only real difference I've been able to discern between Sriracha and the other Jack Link's flavors is that sodium nitrate isn't at all listed. Assuming that it isn't simply an oversight, this would suggest that the sriracha flavor is completely nitrate-free, which may have a factor as to why the meat quality of this specific flavor is a vast improvement when compared to the others among Jack Link's selection. It's a delicious and, evidently, nitrate-free snack that should be enjoyed by any jerky fans should they get the chance.
I love Jack Link's beef jerky. For this particular flavor, the sriracha is definitely there. You may need a bottle of water nearby. The beef jerky is not dry either.
