This nest works great would buy again and tell friends to get one
So far so good. Installation was a bit challenging, but we got it done. Enjoy being able to set it on "Eco" when we are away from home, and being able to turn it on remotely. Also, not having to get out of bed to adjust the thermostat. It can easily been done on your phone.
I just ordered this online Thanksgiving morning and it was on my doorstep Friday! I installed it myself and it could not have been easier. Setup was also a breeze! I've only had it a couple days so I can't say yet about energy savings but I bought it on sale at Sams, and Nicor and ComEd both have rebates until the end of December so my out of pocket cost for The Nest is $50! I'm a happy lady!
It took a little longer than I expected to install, I had a little help from my brother-in-law, first time for him to. Had a little wiring problem, but it told me what the problem was, went to the web site looked at the pictures and fixed the problem. Worked great. We have a two story house and the thermostat is upstairs, what a dream now, I can sit at the kitchen table and adjust with my laptop. This will be great when we go away on trips.
Works as advertised. Easy to install and operate.

Make sure you have a c wire , it will not work reliably without one
Excellent device, packaging and installation process! Only update would be to the functionality of the software to allow a time period at a given temp, then revert to the previous. Helpful to warm up or cool down the house for specific activities, and not include it in the history or learning features.
It is supposed to be an easy self installation, which it was. However it did not work as expected. The fan was running like 18 hours a day, which a problem posted by many people in google help. I called Google support, and they are not much help. They recommended getting a professional HAVC as the problem is on my home system. My HAVC was working perfectly fine before the Nest, and I put the old thermostat back it worked as it used it. I had to return it!
Got this brand new and even with A compatible wiring system, two electricians. I kept getting error “no power to the R switch” and now “ Please remove the thermostats from in space then reattach it “ No matter what happens. I need to return this .
