[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is an incredible Compactor!! Quiet, efficient and pleasing to the eyes! A very well built appliance that should last me many many years! Have always loved Whirlpool and the appliances that they make!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in a three story townhouse and this compactor saves my trips to the trash container! I actually only have to put out my big garbage can once every two weeks! FABULOUS!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 5-6 months ago and we love it! We use less trash bags- we are a family of 5 with three teenagers. We go through some trash haha. I really love that it is easy to use and easy to take a part to clean because kids can sometimes throw stuff behind it or they rush and not pay attention. Best money I have ever spent!
As trash compactors go, it's probably better than average these days, but the housing seems insubstantial (i.e., cheaply made), and the foot pedal for compaction is easy to trigger by mistake. For the price we had expected better quality. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
With the lower front foot switch, the front cabinet is not adequately strengthened. It is tinney and very flexible. For a product of this cost a little added structure would give it a much better feel. If you are considering purchaseing this item be sure and see it in person prior to buying. Other than this it works great and has great compacting power.
Purchased 3 months ago. I was under the impression that this unit had the hold feature to compaction but it does not. I have not research to see if the unit was a substitute as we purchased on line form Whirlpool. Overall the unit works well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The compactor does exactly what it is to do, compact trash. It is minimal, would suggest if you really want a thorough compact, get a different model.
The new compactor is quieter but that is the only plus. It is cheaply made , it does not crush and hold it down, It is not going to last 30 plus years like my last one for sure. Made cheaply, cost much more!!!. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought two of these units in May 2015 and waited several weeks for them to arrive. Now I have them and they both operate in a very strange way. When you press the floor pedal, the trash drawers kick hard to right banging the adjacent cabinet and then they rattle and vibrate as the drawer opens out towards you. The root cause is that the drawers are out of sqaure. I know this because I compared the drawers to my old Whirlpool units from 15 years ago. Those drawers are square and they open sttraight out, nice and smooth. Whirlpool clearly has a factory assembly quality issue with these units! So, if you want trash compactors that bang your cabinets when they open and rattle, these would be good units to own.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first compactor arrived damaged, both sides bent. The second we received broke on the fifth day of use. The gear broke in half.
