Key Features and Benefits: Freeze frame with the ability to mark structure on sonar Pressing any arrow on the four-way cursor control instantly stops the sonar graphic display to allow a closer inspection of submerged structure, bait fish, and underwater contours. Movable cursor feature allows you to instantly discern depth of any sonar return and mark waypoints from the sonar screen for navigation. Pressing the exit key will exit the freeze frame and the display will start to resume scrolling. Mark the location of fish-attracting structure, bottom transitions, or any feature anywhere on traditional sonar with the sonar cursor. Real Time Sonar (RTS) window A Real Time Sonar (RTS) window appears on the right side of the display in the sonar view only. The RTS window always updates at the fastest rate possible and shows only the returns from the bottom, structure, and fish that are within the transducer beam. The RTS window can be displayed as narrow (standard), wide, or off. Selective fish ID+ Fish ID+ uses advanced sonar processing to interpret sonar returns, and displays a fish symbol when very selective requirements are met. When a fish is detected, a fish icon and its depth are displayed above the return that has been classified as being a fish. Three different fish icons represent intensity of the sonar return, and provide an indicator of relative fish size. Sonar echo enhancement Sonar echo enhancement shows fish, bait, and more - even watch your vertical jigging on-screen. This is possible through advanced sonar processing and provides the details you want and need. It's important to know what depth the fish are located and equally important to be able to place your lure at that precise depth. Be careful! You may jerk the rod early while watching the screen instead of waiting for the actual bite. Split screen zoom Split screen zoom increases the displayed resolution to separate sonar returns that are very close together. In this view, the display is split to show a narrow slice of the full range view on the right and the zoomed view on the left. The zoom preview box on the right tracks the bottom in the full range view. Large digits view Also known as big digits view provides digital data in a large, easy-to-see format. Depth is always displayed. Readouts for temperature, speed, and Triplog information are displayed automatically if the appropriate accessory is connected. The Triplog shows distance traveled, average speed, and time elapsed since the Triplog was last reset. The digital readouts in the big digits view cannot be customized. Triplog The Triplog is a selectable readout and will only appear in the menu if a Speed Accessory, GPS or Paddlewheel, is connected. The Triplog provides average speed, distance traveled, and elapsed time information. X-Press menu system The X-Press menu provides quick access to the settings most frequently used. Press the menu key once to access the X-Press menu. This simple and convenient feature saves valuable time when you want to change the most used settings. Spend more time fishing and less time adjusting. Press the menu key a second time to access the main menu. What's Included: Humminbird 500 Series 587ci Combo Transducer

The Humminbird 587ci is a very good unit for the average fisherman. The sharp images presented by the unit along with the sharp color contrast gives the fisherman a very clear picture of the underwater structures and bottom features. I am more that satisfied with my selection of the 587ci for my fishfinder.
This is a good fish finder. It really is easy to use once you get use to it. The graphics are really good. The GPS seemed to work very well. A little pricey but over all i am happy with my purchase.
Overall good product. Easy installation, about two hours. Bright display, easy to see in bright sun. Veiwing angles could be wider, but acceptable. GPS addition to my boat has been wonderful. Accurate speed and navigation. Don't buy maps before looking at what lakes are covered. Basically no maps available for WV lakes, your's may be the same. Have a nice day and happy fishing....
This unit is packed with features; easy to install and easy to use. Pros: Good color and resolution, even in bright conditions. The transducer is ultra-sensitive. The GPS works flawlessly and is easy to mark waypoints. The included tilt and swivel makes it convenient to see the display no matter where you sit in the boat and the quick release is a nice feature so the head unit can be removed and stored to prevent theft or damage. Cons: Price; the unit is pretty spendy ($486.00) for the casual fisherman. No charts installed, the unit only comes with base maps. Retrieving trip information is a bit cumbersome, but that might be because I'm still new to the product. Overall: A good product, no regrets yet…
Overall I am only somewhat satisfied with this product. the fish finding graphics aren't as easy to read as it claims and the unit locks up on me all the time. When it locks up I have to turn the power off then turn it back on again. I don't think it's worth the money I spent.
unit would not power up. finally powered up but continued to shut down. Had to send to factory for repairs. Ruined fishing trip.
