This product is easy to install and setup. The drivers load quickly and printing is relatively fast. The best feature for me is the small amount of space needed for this printer.
I've had this printer for 7 years (since 2003) and have never had any problems with it. At one point, I decided to try another printer/brand because it offered more features, but quickly returned to using this one because it was very reliable. I don't feel that it uses too much ink, but the cost of ink replacements are pretty reasonable compared to other brands and models. Overall, I have had a great experience with this model.
This printer will be great first-try for beginner. With fast printing and good colors, better than easy setup and drivers setting, this i250 makes excelent first choice device. Hovewer, after using this printer for 5 years, its huge ink compsuntion because of poor printing head parking and not so well made body from plastic, printer one day stopped working due to "full excess ink level". Printer is really loud - which gets worse in night when everybody wants to sleep. Compared to BJC 2100, i250 is 2-3x louder. Printer self-sleeping mode is worst feature - after printing is done, printer will go sleep after 30s-1min, and when waking up from sleep, it sucks another ink - better to have all day job ready in one time to print. After all, i would not get hand to another one. Quality and features were fair enough for me, but i want quieter and less ink consumpting printer next time. If you dont mind loud paper sucking and higher ink compsuntion, this is printer for you.
It gobbles up the ink very quickly. It does not print several times even though new ink tanks are put in it, and the ink is reset using the reset feature of the printer. The Printer was hardly used since I purchased it about a little more than four years ago. There is no way the Print Head is used and needs replacing. All methods in maintenance have been used recently, cleaning, deep cleaning, print head alignment, nozzle check, etc., etc. Today I used two new color, and two new black ink tanks, and performed all the functions required to make the Printer print. The colors 24C are printing just fairly. The black 24BK refuses to print. The bulk of the money spent is on ink, and so far, very poor performance, overall. If that model is to be continued, Canon should definitely do something to correct this terrible shortcoming. As it is, if I cannot get the problem solved, the only thing left for me to do instead of stressing out myself further, is to pack the Printer in a box and dispose of it as quickly as possible. I really do not mean to be harsh, but that is the fact of the matter. Well, meanwhile, thanks for giving me a hearing, if you have listened, at least, that is still better than nothing. Bye, and thanks again. Send.
