Yoga 9i ticks all the boxes for me.

It's a great laptop, I've been using it for about a month now and it has a very nice look and feel to it also it's very fast. The i7 processor is a new thing for me and it seems to be way faster than my previous laptops. I'd definitely recommend the Yoga 9i to my friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a Yoga for work about 18 months ago and loved it, so when I decided to get a new laptop and pass down my older Yoga, I decided to get a new Yoga. I am very happy with my decision and these now are my favorite laptops. My brother agreed and purchased one as well. Great laptop, reliable, nice screen, nothing bad to say about it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Lenovo YOGA series, it seems more fragile as I am used to their ThinkPad Yoga series, but no matter this is still an upgrade! The OLED screen is amazing! The pen and case that came with it great, works great. The battery life is great, handles the work I'm doing exceptionally, using R studio, Leica imaging software, and other bioinformatics software.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After about a week of daily personal and business use, I'm certain I made the right choice with the purchase of this laptop. I'm returning to PC use after giving a Macbook a try - I'm just not a Mac person. This is my first foray into touchscreen laptops and I'm finding out how handy that feature can be. Though the overall size of the machine is smaller than those I've had previously, the screen size takes up enough space that I don't feel I'm lacking usable area. Some things to note: - I find the touchscreen to be a bit oversensitive when I have it folded over into notebook mode, but I'm still figuring that out (maybe it's a setting I need to change?). - The included pen doesn't hold a charge for as long as I'd like. It seems to run out after about 30 minutes of use. Like the touchscreen, this is my first experience with a digital pencil, so not sure what's typical. The pen is a bit difficult to remove, but I'm sure I'll be more adept at that with repeated use. - All ports are on one side. Having at least one on the other side would make cord management more convenient because of my desk configuration, but it's just my personal setup and certainly not a dealbreaker.

Almost perfect if not for trackpad and fingerprint

Reviewed in the USA on 2021-12-28T16:00:00

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll start with this: I'm a lifelong Apple user for all personal endeavors (I've been using Macs outside of school/work since the 80s). I've been waiting for Apple to produce a capable 2-in-1 that I can use for both home and work purposes, and while it looked like they were close, they didn't deliver in 2021. After hours of research I decided to "break ranks" and go with Lenovo's Yoga 9i 14" Shadow Black device - the top-end for this series. And, so far, on the whole I've not been disappointed. The 9i is fast, light, and brilliant in its functionality. It's well built and has performed beautifully in both "laptop" mode and when folded over to work as a tablet. The screen is crisp and bright with good color representation. It's a bit heavy and bulky in tablet mode, but that's a known factor so I can't take points off for that (it's not designed to be an iPad Air). The included stylus and screen sensitivity are just "okay," as is the case with the trackpad, but I've been spoiled by Apple in these areas so for a Windows product, Lenovo has done "fine." I've loaded the holy-smokes out of my 9i from a multitasking perspective and it hasn't missed a beat - delivering far better performance than my four year old MacBook Pro. I even took a chance at upgrading to Windows 11 and I have to admit - I like it and have had absoltuely no problems with the upgrade. Overall, I think I may be a convert. Lenovo has built a fantastic 2-in-1 with the Yoga 9i. The only complaints I have - and unfortunately they're not insignficant - are: 1) Neither the trackpad nor fingerprint scanner have any discernable edging (no bevel, no raised lip) - just an astonishingly unnoticable recessed line around them...something akin to a light scratch in the laptop case. Consequently, I'm constantly missing the devices or unknowingly sliding off of them. I can't fathom how Lenovo thought this was good user design - even in testing. When I say "unnoticable," I'm not joking - in direct light when angling the laptop for the best view, it's almost impossible to see the edges, nevermind feel them. Considering that to log onto the laptop (w/o having to type in a PIN) you need to locate the nano-fingerprint scanner, this is a HUGE design fail. This leads me to my second criticism. 2) The fingerprint scanner fails more than it works. I've seen this complaint many times elsewhere. Because you can't feel the fingerprint sensor (see complain #1), you have to guess that you're "on it," and it's only about 1cm x 1cm so it's very easy to be off-center. However, even when I'm sure I'm dialed onto it, it only works perhaps 1 out of every 5 times I appply my fingerprint. I've even added a second fingerpring thinking maybe my index finger was jacked up, and same result. For comparison, my MacBook Pro fingerprint reader worked the first and every time, and was able to discern between my fingerprint and that of others, so it was securely working. When it takes sometimes 15 seconds to log into my Yoga, well..."Houston, we have a problem." With no facial ID yet on this device and the only other option being typing in a PIN (which you have to click to prompt - it doesn't automatically take the PIN input if you just start typing it...again, unfathomable), I can't understand how Lenovo created such a phenomal product in quite honestly *every* other respect but worse than bombed on arguably one of the most important functions of a device - starting it up. Overall, I *can* live with those failures such that I'm happy with my purchase (tweaking some settings, etc.). If I had to buy again, the trackpad and fingerprint reader issues are so bad I might consider an alternative model. However, for what I currently have in my lap right now, I'll keep it and continue to happily use it (and hopefully grow accustomed to the touchpad and forgiving of the fingerprint sensor). If they fix these issues on their 2022 model, it'll be a guarnateed 5 out of 5 rating, hands down (and if you do, Lenovo, please I beg you send me a new device with these design failures corrected). Overall, it's a strong 4 our of 5 star rating. Dare I say it, "See ya...Mac. It's been real." Lenovo's Yoga 9i 14" Shadow Black device is a killer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the oatmeal 16 gb and 1 tb combination with 4k screen.. love the laptop.. it's smooth and easy to handle.. coming from Dell it takes time to get used to the new set of buttons on right side.. there are some software gliches in 4k screen but nothing to be of a concern.. I expected battery life to be pretty good but it lasts me around 3-4 hrs.. so not happy with it.. otherwise it's a great laptop and I got it in a nice deal.. audio, display, design even the color looks great.. it has been just 15 days of light usage.. hoping things work well in the long run..

Note Screen Size Ratio

Reviewed in the USA on 2021-07-05T17:00:00

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Screen size is wide screen with bottom strip of screen not viewable, resulting in less vortices viewing space. Camera is not Windows 10 facial recognition compliant and finger print security is very unreliable. Bright clear screen, light weight, can adjust brightness with keyboard, fast and lots of SSD storage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the smooth round sleek edges, rose pink gold color, and ease to set up. I don't like the keyboard position. It is too far up and the mouse pad is too large. It hurts your wrist.
