Watch network and local channels in HD over the air with the ClearStream 1MAX antenna from Antennas Direct. Setup is easy - The ClearStream 1MAX is whole-home ready and can connect with existing satellite or cable wiring to deliver the antenna's signal to all your TVs. This indoor, attic, and outdoor TV antenna receives UHF and Hi-VHF signals from over 40 miles away and its multi-directional elements provide optimal reception even if your broadcast towers are spread out. There are many advantages to installing an outdoor TV antenna over an indoor antenna. As well as not needing to conceal an antenna among your home décor, an outdoor antenna will experience fewer physical obstructions like walls, building materials, furniture, etc., and less interference (noise) from electronic devices inside your home. The ClearStream 1MAX antenna includes a 20-inch mast with a pivoting base to allow for installation on horizontal or vertical surfaces like a roof, fascia, or attic. Note: the range of this antenna can vary depending on the height of, power, and frequency coming from the TV transmitter tower, as well as the height of the antenna installation, the terrain in your area, and obstacles between your home and the broadcast towers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this indoor since I don't want to put it outside and surprisingly it can catch the TV channel and the pictures is really good even thou there is a big building infront of our house. The installation pretty easy and although first time we need to figure it out how to find the channel but after a while we became familiar with it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tired of rising cable bills, I did what so many others have done: I cut the cord, thus reducing my cable bill by about $150/mo. While I don't watch most broadcast TV, apart from some sports, I'm a big, big fan of PBS, and knew I'd have to add an antenna to get that, plus the main local broadcast channels for weather, local news and sports, etc. I knew nothing about antennas, but researched them extensively, using a multitude of antenna websites, including several that showed the location of the transmitter towers closest to me. I live in a close-in suburb, with a lot of mature trees, in Houston, Texas. The terrain here is infamously flat. The towers for the channels I was interested in receiving are all about 18 miles S by SW of my home. (For Houston residents: I live about five miles due north of Downtown Houston, just inside the loop.) Based on everything that I read about powered v non-powered antennas, and thin, flat-panel antennas v other forms of indoor antennas, as well as various outdoor antennas, I thought the 1Max would likely work well for me, even indoors. (The 1Max is designed to pick up VHF and UHF signals; not all antennas are.) Still, I called, and ran my location and other information by an AntennasDirect consultant named Tom. After pulling up my address on the transmitter locator page on the AntennasDirect website, he confirmed that it would be an appropriate choice, but noted that I might end up having to mount the antenna on the roof. I'd have ordered the antenna from Tom on the spot, except that I wanted to have it in time to watch two NFL playoff games. So, I thanked Tom, and bought it from a local store less than three miles from my home. The 1Max antenna is very solid and of excellent quality. Unless one needs to mount it on the roof, there's little to do. Assembly consisted of using the two supplied screws and brackets to install the two "arms" for VHF reception, and hooking up the antenna to a coaxial cable, totaling about 10 minutes at most. (Note: Since some users might need a long length of cable for roof or attic mounting, while others might need only a few feet for indoor mounting, the antenna doesn't come with a coaxial cable.) I attached my antenna to about 10 feet of good quality cable I had on hand, and set it about six feet off the ground on top of my TV armoire, facing the transmitters about 18 miles away, held my breath, and hit "Scan." (I already had an outdoor location in mind, if necessary.) I was stunned to see that I got 138 "DTV air" stations! Most were typical over-the-air broadcasts - shopping, foreign language, etc., but PBS, NBC, ABC, CBS, and local channels 26 and 39 all came through as clear as a bell the first time out! Those were all I wanted, though I noticed that Movies! and a few other good retro channels came in well, too. Mission accomplished. I tried moving the antenna a few inches in several directions, and did several more scans, once getting a high of 148 stations, though I always got at least 112. Most of the time, I get between 132 and 138. But again, I wanted it primarily for PBS, and for ABC, CBS and NBC for sporting events, like the upcoming Super Bowl and the Olympics. In closing, I'd like to put in a good word for Tom, the friendly consultant and Kansas City Chiefs fan whom I talked to. Again, Tom was very helpful on the phone, and was the decisive factor in my purchase of the 1Max, and I couldn't be happier with the performance and quality of it. I've already recommended it to some friends nearby, and will highly recommend it to anyone living within about 50 miles of their main transmitter towers. But please...do your homework in finding out where the main towers are in your location, "aim" the antenna in that direction, and place the antenna as high as practically possible. If that doesn't work, try mounting it on the roof; it's relatively simple, and would very likely improve the performance. Good luck.
I assembled my antenna with the help of TV ClearStream-1MAX-Quick-Start--C1MV. It was easy. I mounted the base on a 14" x 16" piece of 3/4" plywood. With the help of a 25' coax cable, this allows me to use the antenna in our home and in our RV. The reception is great.
I installed this indoors to pick up a weak FM station and it worked great. A little sensitive to aiming, but it seems to pull in a weak signal really well. Unobtrusive design makes it a good indoor or outdoor option.
I am a complete illiterate on this type of thing. The help from customer care was awesome! Easy purchase, only took 10 minutes to set up and key in to tower signal in my area! I get about 20 stations as clear as you could ever want. I have found enough to keep me content and free me from a $135 a month Dish bill. I'm a very happy camper!!! Thank you!
Works great. Only 4 miles away to nearest towers but pulling stations 37 miles away. Hanging indoors by the window, first floor. Shout out to the staff who helped me pick a winner! Kudos!
The Lady that help me did a great job helping me pick the right antenna, She had all the information that we needed to select the right Antenna , she was very polite friendly, very smart at what she did, it was a great experience.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This antenna will stand upright on a table or can be mounted on a pole. I used it in my attic for all the TV's and devices in my home via a Tablo DVR and it works great! I called support to ask for a recommendation and they were extremely helpful.
The antenna was easy to set up. We're picking up about 10 channels. I was hoping for more, but it's better than no channels. Of course all local channels (hope you like PBS type programming!). Nicely made antenna - overall pleased with it.
I installed my ClearStream 1MAX outdoors on a mast. If my mast were on a roof, pointing up, I would have given 5 stars for my review. However, my mast points down from under the wide eave on my roof. In this configuration, the "bump" used for wall mounting interferes with the mast. Apparently, ClearStream's expectation is that the antenna will be mounted near the top of a mast. I remedied the situation by building a shim to offset the mast to clear the "bump" (see photos). Clearview could have foreseen and remedied this problem by building the offset into the mast clamp. Instead, it took me 3 hours to do an installation that otherwise would have taken less than an hour.
