I have a small dog that had stomach issues with whatever she ate. We have a strict rule with her that she got no table food due to it making it worse. So when I got my new puppy 2 years ago we switched to Blue Buffalo Basics Skin & Stomach Care, Grain Free Natural Adult Small Breed Dry Dog Food, Lamb & Potato and my older girl's stomach issues completely stopped. I will not go back. We now have 2 new puppies that will get the same food. I cant say enough good things about this! (lol no more messes to clen up :) )
I like this brand and like how they offer the small breed specialized formulas. My dog loves it and doesn't have any stomach trouble as with some other brands. It works for us and although a little pricey, i like knowing the ingredients are healthier and better for her than other brands.
Well I didn't use the Basics small breed version but I tried this one out for my Big Dog and she didn't like it either, had to get her to eat it by mixing the wet dog food with it. It's a pricier food but a dog's happiness and health have no cost limits.
Blue Buffalo is a great quality Dog food. Full of nutrients. Our puppy loves it. We have a chihuahua and she is very small. A large bag of blue Buffalo has lasted a long time. Lol she only eats about 1/4 cup at a time. I highly recommend this awesome dog food, you won't regret it. They have so many varieties for all your needs.
Our frenchie has been experiencing some really bad allergies w/hots spots, swollen eyes and bumps. We didn't want to medicate. It's been a miserable year for him. Beef, chicken, turkey and Salmon - our last resort. Then Someone recommended simple lamb mix, researched and I found this brand. What a difference this has made! He eats it dry sometimes, wet others but gobbles it right up. He likes the size, he digests it well. His skin is amazing, bumps are gone and he's a happy camper. Thank you. Great product! Just one request, LOVE to have more lamb options or treats! 😉
This has been our go to dog food for years. We have a Weenie dog and a Jack Russel and they are all about this stuff. We even add a bit of the wet version of this dog food over the top on occasion to treat our boys. I feel good about giving my dogs high quality food
I love the ingredients, and that is why I purchased this brand. My dog and cat although each receiving their specific type, They did not like the taste as much as they had other brands. They both did not like the dried berries in the food. Overall nutrition was great overall ingredients are great but the flavor was not appetizing to them so I gave them four stars.
My littles were on royal canin and my vet was out so we tried this for a while and I was surprised they ate it as picky as they are. It seemed like good quality but after a few weeks my babies seemed to be itchy so we switched back to the royal canin
This has been the only dry dog food my 16 year old Shih-tzu hasn't been allergic to for the past 7 years. However, I can tell that the ingredients have somewhat changed. I notice little sharp hair particles in the dry dog food.
I'm on the fence about this dog food as both pugs are having skin issues. Other than that it's really hard to find a dog food w/o ANY poultry or poultry fats. This is one of the few and the pugs will eat it. I've been adding their wet food (also Blue Buffalo) to this, but it has rice and that could be the issue. They were perfect till I started messing with their food.
