I already purchased the Skil Electric mower, hedge trimmers, and now I purchased the blower/weed trimmer combo. Very satisfied with all the products. I purchased an additional 2 year warranty, but if you register the product on Skil website within 30days you also get a 5 year warranty through them. The battery charges pretty quickly and I only have to recharge once a month (my yard isn't super huge).
String trimmer is plenty powerful and the blower has yet to be used saving for fall time but works good to blow grass clippings off sidewalks and roads
Easy to use, but it needs to come with two batteries instead of one!
String trimmer head a little heavy, but OK. A little less power, but for less money!
After charging battery, items worked fine.
I like what I see, but Skil, you should make tools available for purchase without batteries. That's a main point for me (and I think many others), so we can share batteries and charger across tools from early kit purchases, without buying additional and having a bunch of batteries and chargers laying around with every other tool purchase.
I'm very pleased so far with the skil power 20 weed eater , I used it approximately 4 times so far with about 15min in each use along with the blower on the same battery, and it finally needs to be charged. I love the fact that the weed eater is long enough for a tall person to use and it is bump feed . Also they both are ( Brushless ) motors with a 5 year warranty. Yes the battery could run a bit longer, but for a small to medium size yard it's perfect. The blower has good force when you use it on 5 which you will probably will to get the max air flow . The noise is low whining sound way better than my old 2 cycle one . I waited a few years for these brushless models to come down in price and this Skil brand fit the bill . If you don't have a huge yard , don't be afraid to purchase this model, it does the job .
Fast shipping and good customers service, which is why we gave 3 stars, otherwise it would. We received the kit yesterday and we opened the box the battery was leaking and covered with acid. (which I did touch) Call customer service who arrange for the return and reordered a new combo kit for us, but when the second one arrived this morning, it also had a leaky battery.
Decent power;however, when starting at the low speed setting the trimmer keeps stopping even when tripper depressed. Have to use it on the high speed to avoid this annoying problem. Grip and balance could be a little better as well.
This is the second blower and trimmer combo iv bought with a bad battery. The first one had a defective battery and the second arrived with a battery that had exploded and leaked all over right out of the box and the liquid got on me. Not happy.
