If you are looking for a healing, moisturizing cream for overnight use, then this is your golden ticket. Not only does this hydrate as you sleep, but it leaves your skin refreshed and rejuvenated. It has a thicker, almost pudding like texture that melts into your skin as you apply. It is not greasy at all. The scent is hard to describe, almost like what your Grandma's powder might have smelt like, which may be a turn off for some people but I love it!
My face swelled up about 10 hours after I used this night cream. I also have tried the green intensive version with no problems but the purple restorative night cream I only used one time and my face has been red, itchy, and about 3x swollen from regular size since. It is the only thing different that I had done in my daily routine. I am pretty regimented and I am very freaked out. I do not have any allergies normally and my doctor said it is very localized since I don't have any other symptoms. I was given Benadryl (extra strength at night) and Reactin (daytime) and I feel like those aren't helping much. Tonight was 2.5 days later and it finally feels like 20% less swelling and I'm hoping it goes away by work on Monday!!!! OMG I am NOT HAPPY. I will be weary of any Aveeno products after this.
I don't normally post reviews, but when I saw the other posts, I felt it necessary to affirm what other people are saying. Last night I tried this cream for the first time, and when I woke up, my face was bright red. It was as if I'd been sunburned, and several hours later, I'm still at work feeling miserable because my face is so hot. I haven't had a reaction this bad since I was thirteen. Having read the other posts, I'm starting to feel lucky all I got was redness. Don't try this cream; it's not worth taking the chance.
I had a very similar reaction to this product as others have listed. After using it for 1 - 2 nights, I woke up with an allergic reaction. My face was red, irritated with bumpy rash, and hot to touch. It felt like a severe windburn...very dry and chapped. I hadn't changed anything else in my routine. I already had a doctor's appointment that morning. She was very concerned and checked my lungs and wanted to be certain I wasn't having any swallowing problems; but it was just a local reaction on my face and not systemic. Please be careful using this product. I think somewhere it should advise to try on small area first...wish I had done so.
I currently love the creamy clear complexion face wash. I was in search of a night cream. I woke up the next morning to a swollen, red face. Still two days later and my face is swollen and red, but in addition has small whiteheads, which I have never had before. It looks like this is a common problem.
Similar to others, I used this for 2 nights with no issue. I woke up after the 3rd night with a dry, stinging rash across my face. There at many small raised bumps and it feels as if I had sunburned and have small water blister under it. This is the only thing I have changed in my fave care routine. This product was expensive to buy, so I am quite disappointed. I am afraid to try the daily moisturizer I also purchased.
The second night I used this product, I woke up with a red and puffy face. I have a minor rash on my neck. Would not recommend this product. I will be returning this to the store. I should have read the reviews before purchasing this product cause it seems like everyone is saying the same thing. If I was the company I would pull this product until they can fix the issue.
Ok, so I'm a big fan of aveeno products and I will continue to use all the other moisturisers made by Aveeno but I'm not too keen on this ageless/night cream. I bought this cream after the hype, I thought I'll give this cream a try. Let me share my experience, first of all I don't like the strong blackberry complex smell/aroma whatever it is but that's not the isssur anyway I applied the cream to my face and straightaway I can feel a burning sensation on the sensitive areas of my face but on the areas that are oily/combination like my T zone/forehead seemed fine but my cheeks were feeling hot and red, I never sunburn but I experienced that sensation from this cream you can say it's similar to the after effects of a hot wax treatment or threading anyway (fast forward) I washed my face with my lovely simple face wash and applied the most soothing oil to calm my skin. At this point, I can still feel the heat on my skin if that makes sense, I think I needed an ice pack. I woke up in the morning, skin was fine but I noticed two spots and saw slight redness but that disappeared after hours. So I saved my self from some allergy or reaction. My advise to people will be to try it on a small area before applying it on to the full face. This cream is different from all the other aveeno products and just go off reviews because everyone has different skin. Anyway I won't be applying this cream on my face but now I just use it on my hands as a hand cream or a moisturiser and that's ok. Won't be buying it again.
I didnt listen to the negative reviews bc historically i have never had sensitive skin and use other aveeno products no problem. But i also had a rash or something with skin warm to the touch a few days after use. My skin is now dry as it heals and as someone said, it feels like a sunburn; i would definitely agree with that. I'm hoping my skin heals bc its looking a bit leathery right now and has a slightly bumpy texture.
After three nights of using this product, I woke up with a red, burning rash all over my face and neck. It looks and feels like a severe sunburn. I have used other Aveeno products for years and this is the first time I've experienced any negative reaction.
