This gate is sturdy and strong. Easy to install. I had an extra tall that didn't seem to work as well as this one. The locking mechanism is wonderful and works like a charm.
This gate went together very radial and worked just like it said it would. It is also appealing to look at if you need a gate in your home for a long period of time. I am very pleased with this product.
Works great with very little gaps on the sides, my opening is 341/2 inches. I have a 5 lb puppy. My larger dog cannot get through to eat the puppy food and the puppy is able to go back and forth from his room easily using the mini door when I leave it opened.. and it locks back up easily. If you have a big dog that can jump high, they may be able to get over the gate.. otherwise it is perfect.
Nice Looking, sturdy, adaptable to doorways and working great. Walmart had the best price on this gate. Other stores selling for almost twice as much!
We have grandchildren who love our cat but aren't old enough to fully understand that they frighten the cat when they attempt to chase her. I was looking for a gate that would allow them to see the her but would also give the kitty protection from them -- a safe zone -- that she can go to. Most of the gates I looked at were functional but not very attractive. This one is both, and also has a great small animal/pet door, which allows my cat the freedom to come & go, but keeps the children out of her "safe zone". This is the perfect solution! The only real qualm I have is how much you must compress it to get the correct fit in the door frame in order for the latching mechanism to function properly.. so I improvise by using a small cord to keep the "main" gate closed. The door is actually low enough that I simply climb/step over it instead of bothering to open it each and every time I need to go into the other room. It also comes with rubber bumpers on the end caps, but I've also used some felt bumpers to help protect my door frames. Hope this info helps you.
The gates are a little shorter then I thought but work great! I also thought I was only ordering 2 gstes but ended up with 4.......
I bought this to allow my cats into an area of the house but keep the dog out so she stays out of their food. She is a 40 pound shepherd cross and she can walk right through the cat door on this gate with no problems! I'm not sure why the cat hole was made large enough for a 40 pound dog, but I digress. I used zip-ties to fasten the cat door partway shut, so the cats can squeeze through. Not ideal, but it works and the gate is otherwise well-made and attractive.
The gate looks beautiful and was easy for my husband to install. I wish it was spring loaded to auto shut and there was a little area where the stain did not cover the wood trim, but we just put that side facing the room we are not in all of the time. All in all we are very pleased with the look and function of the gate, it gives the kids a safe place to play and keep our dog out of the room.
This gate is of good quality. The only small issue we had were getting it to secure against the wall and stay level. Serves the purpose though and looks very nice. We actually used two of them - mounted together with a piece of iron (see photo). This helped us eliminate the need for temporary gates!
This gate did not fit my doorway and I could not order an extra extension. Nice product but was not for me. I would recommend to a friend if it will fit their doorway.
