I don't have the money or the patience to deal with whitening my teeth daily for two weeks. So I went for the one hour version of a name brand and saw that equate had a much cheaper version. I figured it was certainly worth trying. I saw great results, more so the next morning than immediately after whitening. I did have a bit of gum irritation but personally it was worth it to me. I never write reviews on anything, but this product is worth a try if you can find it. I haven't been able to find it again in the stores and looks like it is out online too!
I have used several whitening kits in my time.. I drink a lot of coffee and eat a lot of black licorace, so my teeth take a beating. I used this kit a couple of days ago, and I love the soft styrofoam trays. These trays are much more comfortable than the rubber ones in some kits and the ones in the kits that you need to heat and form. These prefilled trays fit comfortably and the gel is thick enough to actually stick to your teeth and do the work it is intended to do. One reviewer complained of the globs left on his teeth, well what do you expect that's the product doing the work. Some of the other brands out there use a much thinner gel, and the strips, forget it. this is the best kit for $12.00. I saw a marked improvement in whiteness. I like this kit so much, I have just purchased and used a second kit in the same week, no sensitivity issues, and my teeth are whiter than they have been in years. I won't go for kit number 3, just to be safe. I'll do that in a few months. I will recommend this kit, and I did to another customer when I was in the store today. It works on my yellow coffee stained teeth, it should work on yours.
Equate Intense-Tech Whitening System comes with four pre-filled soft Styrofoam trays (two upper and two lower), two activating rinses, and one final rinse. In other words, essentially everything you need. I started by brushing my teeth with plain water because I had read for another brand to do that first. That was the only change I made to the directions on the package. I rinsed my teeth for 30 seconds with the provided activating rinse, opened the first set of trays and easily slid them onto my top and lower teeth. I set a timer and comfortably watched TV for the 25 minutes required. I then repeated the process and after another 25 minutes finished with the included final rinse. I noticed an immediate whitening effect. Not a neon-bright white, but clearly a distinct and pleasing improvement. The only problem (and it was a minor one) was when taking off the trays, there would still be globs of whitener stuck to my teeth. However, the rinses cleaned this off just by swishing them around my mouth for 30 seconds. The taste was not objectionable and I did not experience any pain and only a very minor amount of gum sensitivity. I read that with a similar product a reviewer brushed with a desensitizing toothpaste first to avoid discomfort, but I wouldn't bother unless I already had some special toothpaste on hand. Overall, I was very pleased with how affordable, easy, quick, and effective the product was and will definitely use it again in the future.
This product worked just as well as the Crest treatment did, and for much less of the cost! I don't think it was a fair evaluation by the other customer who rated it poorly just because their gums were sensitive. Everyone is different and the product doesn't do that to every single person.
It works. I had a bit of trouble with the first tray trying to keep saliva from touching the gel, so my tip is to recline your head back. My teeth became a shade or two whiter, maybe it could have been better if I kept the first tray in for the full time. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience with sensitivity. It was painful at night to the point where it kept me awake...Still sensitive after a day. It would be nice if there was a suggestion on the box to help the sensitivity if it does occur, but whatever! It works! Also I believe I paid around $15...much cheaper than the Crest whitening products.
This product worked better for me then a previous product I got from my dentist. With the first rinse package, I could not believe how brown the liquid was that came out of my mouth! I am a smoker and big coffee drinker. After the last set in the process I could not believe how white my teeth were! I will use this product again, and plan on telling my dentist he lot a whitening customer!
I tried this whitening system yesterday after picking it up at Walmart over the weekend. I was very skeptical, as it was less than $15 with tax, but I figured- why not? I did the whitening yesterday, and was (and still am!) very impressed with the results. I whiten my teeth every 6-9 months, so I've tried quite a variety of products and this is one of my favorite yet. Pros: Inexpensive TRULY 1 HR Easy to use Could actually do stuff while whitening- although no talking Whitened at least 2-3 shades Cons: Styrofoam trays...really? This was my biggest complaint, honestly. Caused a bit of gum sensitivity...nowhere near what I've experienced with other 1-2 hr systems though! Gel stuck to teeth a bit, although (as mentioned before) it came off pretty easily when swishing with the rinses Tip: PAY ATTENTION TO THE RINSES; THEY AREN'T ALL THE SAME. I didn't realize that until I was using the last one, but they're not all the same thing. Side note: The recommended items below are the other whitening products that I really love- the whitening systems both work very well, and I use the toothpaste as a "maintenance" and it's wonderful. Hope this helped someone!
Brought product really not expecting a whole lot but for an hour it made a slight difference. Im sure w whitening strips it will whiten up more. I would recommend this.
Thought I would give this a try since it was fairly cheap. I definitely got what I paid for. I couldn't tell any difference after the hour. i would not buy this product again
I was looking for a teeth whitening product that was effective I have had braces so my teeth are very straight but i ate too much lemon as a young girl and do tend to have my teeth yellow I seen this price which was half of the crest white strips so I decided to give it a try. I immediately got home and slipped on the trays, OMG it burned so bad! and I felt like I couldnt even swallow cause of all the foam. I had extreme sensitivity in my gums, no bleeding, but it was very painful as if someone were poking me with a toothpick and getting deep down in my gums, and after the pain I expected it to be a shade whiter, saw no difference what so ever HORRIBLE, I will never buy this product again. I highly do not recommend this.
