You do not have to use the suction cup if you don't mind the thermometer floating about. Wish the face would be more centered. Would make it easier to tell the temperature faster if it was
Worked well for a month until the cup let go and it shattered in my tank leaving glass in the sand for my plecos to find. Luckily the red alchohol/liquid didn't release.
This thermometer works well, easy to clean & is priced right.
Too small to read, but has an indicator that's easy to read and as long my water temp is inside the green area I'm good, can't complain about the price
Bought two of these for my two tanks. They're great because they do what they are supposes to: measure the water's temperature and stick onto the glass. Only taking a star off because the clear suction cups turns white really quickly (within a matter of a week or so). I would like for it to remain clear as it looks nicer that way. Other than that, it's reasonably priced (cheaper than what you would pay at a pet store).
Have one from another company that is many many years old and bought this one to add to another tank. Suction cup works well and it seems to be reading the temp correctly but it is really hard to read. Especially the green zone.
Does not stick to aquarium very well
You get what you pay for...when I bought it, the red fill was positioned at 24 deg C, put it in the tank, no heater and after a day, still at 24 deg C. The water in the tank should be around 18-19 (probably less) dec C, not 24. I wouldn't buy it gain.
