This is my absolute favorite mascara. It is lightweight but costs my lashes well. The slight metallic black color is just different enough to make my eyes look larger without being shimmery. It is also a tubing mascara and come off with warm water but stays out all day - even with my oily skin! Please don't stop making this!
I bought this mascara on a whim because I'm a student and I'm trying to ball on a budget, wasn't really expecting much from it. OH MAN ! It's by far the best mascara I've ever used! I've tried most of the overhyped mascaras that are on every YouTube beauty gurus rotation and there was always something that never quite worked. I live in Phoenix where triple digit highs are normal pretty much year round with few exceptions during the winter but its DRY. So keep that in mind. This little magical elixir: 1. Separates my lashes 2. Coats them evenly 3. Curls my straight as a board long lashes and holds it there until I take it off 3. DOES NOT SMUDGE or move 4. Doesn't flake 5. Lengthens 6. Is buildable without it looking too clumpy 7. Is waterproof. (And not gross waterproof that literally rips your lashes out and freezes them into submission). Also it has the tiniest little bits of holo glitter and it's super cute even if it's barely noticeable but I know it's there and it makes me feel extra cute lol The ONE DOWNSIDE THAT IS EASILY FIXED When it's first opened it is very goopy and wet so I left mine open for a few hours to dry up the formula a bit and OOF after that she is golden! it's 3 dollars just give it a shot!
I've tried so many mascaras and several by E.L.F. I don't have any complaints about the E.L.F. mascaras but THIS one?? It's the best yet, probably of any I've tried ever!! It gives me volume and the length is incredible. One coat does the trick but I'm so addicted to the stuff, I can't leave the house w/out at least 2 coats. I'm suggesting that everyone buy this mascara. Oh, and the price???? Love my E.L.F. products and so happy I found you!
A lot of people aren't impressed with this mascara because it's doesn't provide a lot of volume. However, I like that it doesn't provide a lot of volume, because it's the perfect "everyday," natural looking mascara. It adds length and pigment and doesn't clump. This also adds a little bit of sparkle to my eyes. Some people are also complaining about this not adding any enhancement to their eye color. However, if you have blue eyes, don't get the blue mascara (Sapphire). Blue on blue won't enhance your blue eyes. Go for the opposite color to enhance your blue eyes (Citrine). Girls with brown eyes should go for the blue mascara (Sapphire). Although, I have the Diamond color and brown eyes and think that looks good on me also. Perhaps Diamond is the universally flattering color? ELF should be better at labeling what mascara color is recommended for what eye color.
Reading other reviews, I definitely don't recommend this mascara is you want volume or length. However, this mascara gives me enough drama for my work look without looking over the top. Yes, there is glitter which I love. Not sure what eye enhancing it does, but it's a keeper for me. The other mascara I recommend from ELF is the 3 in 1.
I'm in love with this mascara. It is extremely difficult for me to find mascara that will not smudge, whether waterproof or not, and I test all my mascara by wearing it while playing sports. This mascara will not smudge and lasts through the day & night. Most importantly it cleans off super easily with warm water. I normally just take a damp face towel (it has to be warm water and nothing else) and cover it over my eyes for a 5 to 10 seconds, then just gently wipe the mascara off. My lashes are cleaned without having to deal with make-up remover and zero tugging. This is a great product!
I have used 100 dollar mascara and 1 dollar mascara and everything in between, all the big names and trendy brands but I have NEVER found a product so absolutely amazing!!! It's amazing brush applies a high quality, doesn't run or smear, lash lengthening mascara that you can sleep in and wake up looking fresh and ready! This product lengthens and coats your lashes like airbrushing a photo or painting a portrait and it enables you to do it flawlessly! I cannot say enough good things about it. It is most certainly worth your time to try it and see for yourself!! I will not use any other mascara again - it's either ELF or nothing! I was intrigued about this as it is supposed to compliment your eye colour,now,as a stand alone mascara it was no good for my sparse lashes and even after curling(with the ELF curler) it just did nothing for me and I was gutted…but then the next day after doing my lashes with my normal mascara combo I decided to wait until fully dry and put a coat over the top and WOW it looked beautiful! Slight sparkle to it and kinda navy blue but I love it and for a night out it's perfect!
I live in Florida, so as you know, it is generally hot here. Today I got into my car about 30 minutes after applying a few coats of this mascara. Yes, it was very hot in my car. However to my horror, my eyelashes began to stick together. This has never happened to me with any brand of mascara I have purchased. Every time I blinked a sticky string of mascara would stretch from my top lash to my bottom lash. I literally had to hold my eyes open in front of my air conditioner just to get them to dry. I won't be purchasing this exact mascara again. Please note, I love E.L.F!
I bought this mascara, literally today, and I was not happy. I live for all elf products so I was very sad when I tried this and hated it. Nothing happened when I put it on, so I pressed the brush on my hand to swatch it. The only thing on my hand is a little tiny bit of glitter and practically no color. Since this is a mascara I was expecting some black, but there really wasn't any.
