I like this but only if Emojoi would make the gear that turns the tweezers in metal... I had a previous version but the plastic gear that turns it worn out but that was because I pressed too hard when using it. All in All it works fine and quick. Painless to me but my daughter begs to differ.
I am not a stranger to Epilators as have used many, including earlier Emjoi models. Will say this one finally hits the mark. It has kind of a rattling sound to it, but it removes more hair than every past epilator I have owned. Will say time to remove hair is still about the same, but more is getting removed. . Charging time is the only drawback, since it does take 16hrs to charge. Still, does not bother me. I am more than willing to wait, when the results are good. It also comes with a clear plastic cap that covers the epilator head, which is great thinking on Emjoi's part since dust can get in and damage these things easily. A fully charged Emagine seems to give about 45 minutes of hair removal. This is a very important thing to fanatics like myself that hate hair on their body. I do from face to toes. I have never had this good of luck on the face and is why I rate it so high. So hairs get left behind, but nowhere near what others I have used have! Love it and use it every day. Still, I am hoping to also get a permanent hair removal device soon, til then this is the best!
A lot of individuals confuse shavers and epilators. It works well, if you know how to handle it, and realize the difference between the two. Just be sure that when you make a purchase for something electronic like this, that instructions are followed, regarding care. My suggestion, is spoil you skin, when you're done!
I ordered this product and used it 3-4 times now.. I am much happy as it doesn't hurt as much than hot wax... though girls who shave might find it little uncomfortable for the first time.. but its better than shaving as the hair regrowth is much later as in at least for 15 days there is no need to worry about the hair removal.. My skin is very sensitive and reacts very easily to hair removal creams and reddens after wax but this product Emjoi has relieved me as I need not worry about any waxing problems now... It is definitely worth a try..
The Emjoi double head epilator is the best and it does not injure or damage your skin and it is easy to use and does a great job. I recently purchased a Braun single head epilator and it damaged and injured my skin and was impossible to use and I returned it and purchased the Emjoi. It is the best. I highly recommend this product.
Love it ,, its hard to use it in face and under arm becouse its huge but really love it
I have shaved my legs all my life and I now want to only use my Emjoi Emagine epilator because my legs feel and look so much better with its use. As you have read in many other reviews, the first time is the hardest, so if you can suck it up and try not to be a baby the first time, you WILL GET USED TO IT. I promise the second and third times aren't nearly as painful as the first. Then after that, you will want to epilate before hardly any hairs are back and you don't even feel any pain at that point. I have waited about 4 days this time, and I'm looking forward to my Sunday night ritual of epilating after my bath. I sat in the living room watching TV last week and epilated them and it actually felt relaxing to me. Now for the underarms, the first time was painful, but the second time hardly at all. My armpit hair is a rather large area and it grows back fast with shaving. With epilating, I do want to touch it up at least every other day because I will get a few sparse hairs which are black coming in and I want rid of all of them. I also use my Emagine on my face. I have had to pluck hairs from my chin and underneath chin area for over 28 years now. After the birth of my first son, I guess I got a hormonal imbalance and started growing dark hairs. I was so embarrassed to say anything, I just started tweezing them and have had to ever since. It was such a pain any time I'd travel somewhere away from home because I would have to have my lighted mirror and tweezers, etc. I would take about 20 minutes just tweezing every day. Now with my Emagine, I go over very quickly but it doesn't pluck them all out. I will be honest in saying that I don't think it works as good for the face as it does on the legs and armpits. I don't know if my chin hairs are stuck in there too tight or just can't be picked up by the tweezers, but they don't all want to come out so I will tweeze afterwards for about 10 minutes. So, it did cut my facial tweezing down to half the time, which is great to me. The Emagine is great for your legs, though. I'd recommend it just for your legs. I'm older now and don't care anything about the brazilian bikini trimming or anything in that area. The way I feel, I already have enough to maintain! My first epilator I bought was an inexpensive one at Walgreens and it worked, but pinched my legs severely to where I had track marks on one for a week. That was a Remington one, but I think it was their bottom of the line model. It does work too, but you have to be SO much more careful in keeping the skin taught with it. However, the Emagine is very gentle in comparison, much to my surprise. It looks like with 72 tweezers and the size of the thing, it might eat your leg off-lol, but it is very gentle actually. Like I said earlier in my review, I think it is quite relaxing and massaging now to do my legs as I watch TV. I researched epilators for a very long time and settled on this one because of their claim of antimicrobial tweezer silver ion technology to prevent bacterial infection and ingrown hairs. I don't want any part of that, thank you. So far, I think I've had only 1 or 2 ingrown hairs on my legs, and they didn't hurt, I just noticed a hair under the skins surface and sort of had to scratch it out with a pair of tweezers. I try to scrub my skin good in the bath or shower prior to epilation, with I have read on other reviews helps to prevent ingrown hairs. Other reviewers have said how noisy the Emagine is, but I think it is the same as the Remington one. Those are the only two I have owned. I would like to have the Optimini for my face. If any of you have my same facial problem and could recommend an epilator that works great for your face, please let me know as a comment on this review! I hope this helps convert many other shavers out there! If I can do it and be happy, I know you can too. Just buy one and grit your teeth the first time!
I purchased this unit to upgrade from an Emjoi Gently Gold Caress I've had for a few years. The Emagine is quite an improvement. However, the product claims aren't as honest as they should be. First - These things are not painless or comfortable. Once you begin using them on an area of your body, it will hurt for about 15-30 seconds before you get used to the pain and it becomes tolerable and slightly numbed. You know what it's like to pluck an eyebrow hair? Imagine several being plucked one after another. That's what it feels like. Second - Hair removal in one pass? While many hairs are removed on the first pass, it may take several passes to do the job. This isn't like a razor that shaves everything in its path. You need to use sweeping motions to catch every hair. I wouldn't recommend this unit for facial hair. You can use one of the two sets of spinning tweezers for this purpose. However, it's very cumbersome. I'd recommend a smaller, one-head unit for this purpose.
The Emjoi eMagine Rechargable w/ 72 Tweezers is a great product. For the price, I expected a little more such as additional attachments. Some other similar products costing less come with a shaver, and sometimes a trimmer as well. Other than that, this product was easy to use and I will continue to use it.
I usually pluck my hair with a tweezers. It was time consuming and I decided to try an epilator. After much research I decided on Emjoi after reading a comp from Bestreviews.com (http://bestreviews.com/best-epilators). I am pleasantly surprised by the painless epilation experience. That should have earned a five star rating from me. However I gave it a four stars because it didn't remove all the hair...may be the hair wasn't long enough. I didn't have this experience when I use solely tweezers...it's like the hair got chopped off or something. I couldn't remove those hair with a tweezers afterwards. I will wait another day to try again. But overall I am confident that I will figure out when to use the epilator and I am very happy with the purchase!
