I buy Spring Valley Supplements and they are all good quality. Many doctors recommend only 1mg of melatonin, rather than more. If you fee tired the next day, too much melatonin at higher doses could be the cause. This helps me to sleep great through the night.
This is a good item at a good price. I was so happy to find Melatonin in a 1 mg tablet.
This was $5.31 total for 240 tablets, delivered as a "2 pack," two bottles , 120 count, each. Despite some folk thinking more mg =greater effectiveness... naw. That's not how this naturally-occurring hormone works in a human body. Manufacturers are happy to capitalise on consumers' erroneous beliefs, so that's why you see 3mg tablets, 5mg, 10mg... there are probably even higher dosages available in a single tablet form, for higher prices. Research the *pharmacokinetics* of melatonin if you need to understand more about how much melatonin your body uses and what happens with any excess. Wikipedia is often reliable enough in this instance, and websites of universities and other learning institutions that end in .edu, not .com I'm not interested in taking anything more than 1mg, because I know, for an actual fact, that my body will only use as much as it does, naturally, and all the excess will be excreted as waste. It is a happy thing for me that 1mg tablets cost less than higher doses. I'd purchase the 300mcg tablets (that's 0.3mg, if you are unfamiliar with the conversion), as that's all a body needs, regardless who you are or how big or small you are, but manufacturers likewise pick up on folk who know, and assume they are willing and able to pay $0.13/tablet for an accurate dosage. No thanks. I'll spend $0.022/tablet, and split those tablets in half.. 0.3mg tablets of melatonin always cost 5-10x more than 1mg tablets. I'll buy the 1mg tablets and split them in two, which means I am easily paying less than 10% what I'd be charged if I purchased the .3mg tablets. All that typed, it would be nice if 300mcg tablets of melatonin were priced ethically, but since that day shall never come, 1mg is the best deal. If you live in the US, understand that the UK requires a doctor's prescription to get melatonin, so take your own with you if you go!
I travel a lot between time zones and this is the only thing that helps me get over jet lag.
These are the best. I've tried melatonin before in 3mg, 5mg, even 10mg and while they all made me fall asleep, they also caused severe headaches. Then I read that a normal healthy body only needs 1mg or less of the hormone melatonin and it's true! I sleep like a baby with taking one. It's a natural sleep, not a drowsy, stay with you for half of the day kind of sleep aid. For nights I really want to be "knocked out" or having a bit of anxiety that makes it harder for 1mg to work, I'll take 2 pills.
Walmart is the only place I have been able to find Melatonin in the one milligram size. I only use 1/2 a tablet at night. Walmart used to carry the 300 microgram size, which I preferred, but no longer have it.
Perfect dose. I had greater doses (20mg) previously and caused “unusual” dreams??? Melatonin was recommended for Covid care so when I found the 1 mg dose I decided to try it again. This VERY low done is working exceptionally well to help me sleep!
This is such a low dosage it really doesnt help my kids by itself. My 10 year old started with these but his pediatrician has said he can have up to 9 mg. So he does a 5 and a few of these. These need a Child Safety Cap. I understand they are natural but a 2 year old should not be able to open the bottle so easily. It terrifies me!! They are kept up in a high cabinet but Evil Knievil got into them this morning!
I actually bought them for my dog. He currently takes a 5MG so I wanted to reduce his dosage. I just knew the 1MG would be a smaller tablet. I was wrong. They are bigger than the 5MG and it's kinda hard hiding them in a pill pocket. I gave it two stars because the tablet should be way smaller.
1/10 the dose would be effective, has some drowsiness hangover the next morning due to the high dosage. The 100 mg version could not be found.
