[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very impressed with Cuisinart's Core Custom 13 cup food processor. It offers a wide range of slicing and shredding options. The slicing can run from 1 mm up to 7 mm sized slices. The shredding disk offers fine and medium shredding and there's also a blade for chopping, mixing or dough. You have 4 paddles on the base of the unit as far as speeds: Mix which allows for ingredients such as nuts to be mixed into other ingredients without getting broken up into small pieces, low, high, and pulse, which works by holding the button-down and stopping when you release the button. The pulse paddle and off paddle are the same paddle. Also included is a 10 page manual that comes in both Spanish and English. On page 7, there is a great chart that explains which tool to use on certain foods and at what speed. And finally, within the manual you will also find a recipe book, (which again, is also in Spanish). The processor is top shelf dishwasher safe except for the housing and the bowl should not be microwaved. The housing unit has suction cups on the bottom so it doesn't wiggle when in use. I have included some pictures to show you the fine and medium chopping, as well as slicing on settings 1mm, 3 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm. Cons: The handle sits right in the front of the processor blocking your view and its a bit loud when using the high setting.
My last food processor was the original Cuisinart my mother purchased in the 1970s. It lasted 45 years, but finally the bowl cracked and I couldn't find a replacement anywhere. This new version is more complicated (hello better safety features), but it's doing the job. It's lighter, which is nice. I don't have high hopes it will last 45 years, I know that original motor was made by Robot Coupe, built to last. This is perfectly adequate for my home needs, though.
I love this food processor. The bowl size is perfectly sufficient. Chopped and mixing are a breeze with the motor size. I have not shredded or sliced yet. I find it easy to use and clean. I do like the interior storage but it is a bit clunky to take out and put back on. It's a little on the heavier side but I leave mine on the counter because I use it often. You can't beat the high quality and reasonable price.
This is my second core custom processor, I completely wore out the first one. I am very happy to be able to use the dicing blades from my first one with my new one. And with the addition of the blender component I am able free up counter space. I am very pleased with this food processor.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This food processor is a wonderful kitchen assistant. It was a challenge to separate the lid from the 13-cup food holder. Fortunately, there is a video tutorial. The processor is easy to assemble and even easier to operate. Select the blade, press the button for your rate of speed and add the vegetables. I was in awe of the transformed food. The processing time varies depending on the item, volume and rate of speed. This gorgeous gadget is a heavy-duty worker yet conveniently sized to fit comfortably on the counter. Processed foods are now a diet staple.
Amazing machine Powerful engine. I use it to make Hummus and it does a great job.
I have wanted a full size food processor for quite some time. I have been using my Cuisinart Little Pro Plus for almost 30 years. It came with a juicer attachment. I broke that attachment about 20 years ago and never replaced it. The food processor still works perfectly. My husband surprised me with this new Cuisinart for Christmas. I love it! I no longer have to mix things in two parts, it all fits in one bowl. I appreciate how the blade, slicer and shredder attachments fit into the bowl for storage. I love using this food processor.
Cuts are rarely uniform (doesn't have to be but when you get 3 good slices and the rest mangled it gets irksome). The strength of the motor is amazing. The cup size is usually perfect for what I need. If you want to use the processor for multiple items though, you have to rinse nearly every part because everything inside is exposed to the food. Overall so much better than hand
I haven't used it enough yet for a thorough review. So far it does everything I need it to, and I love having the attachments stored inside the bowl - so no need for another box to take up counter or cupboard space. My biggest complaint is that the bowl and lid are both very difficult to rotate on or off. They're extremely stiff, and I find it very difficult to remove them and put them back in place. And the handles aren't designed well for getting a good grip. My old food processor had open handles, which made it easier to grasp them to get purchase. I guess it's possible that these will loosen up over time, but right now I'm struggling to get them to budge.
This is my third cuisinart food processor. I really like to new design. The way the bowl attaches to the base. My old one would leak if I was processing things like tomatoes. This new design eliminates any chance of that happening.
