Kimchi for Americans, Yes.

I'm Korean-American and lived in Korea for several years. I know what real kimchi tastes like, and this is not the authentic flavor. However, I prefer this Americanized version for the following reasons: It's flavor is clean, you're not left with any kimchi-breath, and it's made with red pepper flakes instead of gochugaru (the essential red chili pepper that defines kimchi). Rather, they used the same red pepper flakes used for the ones you sprinkle on pizza. Because of this, this kimchi is left with a clean flavor and no garlic-kimchi breath. For that reason, I prefer this, because I can eat all I want and not have to be stressed out wondering if I smell like kimchi breath. Real kimchi is super stinky. It is so smelly it can permeate the plastic containers, glass, and destroy your refrigerator with the scent even AFTER you've moved out to a new house (the old refrigerator is destroyed with kimchi scent). This one, however, does not smell at all and is clean and will not destroy your refrigerator. You can enjoy this in any room and it won't stink up the place. On top of that, it is delicious, clean taste, and refreshing. I honestly prefer this Americanized kimchi over the authentic Korean counterpart.

Very tasty, great price. Spicy but not as hot as other kimchi I'm grateful Walmart had this. It's hard to find good kimchi at a reasonable price. This was, literally, half the price of a similar but less tasty kimchi I bought from a grocery store in town. This kimchi is spicy but not even close to how spicy genuine Korean style. But the taste is great so I bought several jars and I'll add some Korean hot chili pepper to it. I hope you can successfully retro-heat it, like that. I think you can get the Korean chili powder at Walmart - cool. ...I mean hot. :)

I had been reading lots of stories about North Korea and kept hearing them speak about Kimchi. I'd tried the Kimchi noodle bowl and loved it but after researching, I knew I was not getting a taste of the real deal. I like cabbage and spice, what could go wrong? NOTHING. This stuff is DELISH. It's really tasty. I eat it on the side of noodles or sometimes I stir it into my noodles. I will definitely purchase again. For anyone curious, I found mine over in the refrigerated produce section, by the salads.

I make my own kimchi because I prefer fresh, not the sour kind. I like this kimchi because it taste fresh, nice and crunchy. I pour a little sesame seed oil on top and it's perfect....try a little on your brats instead of sauerkraut to spice them up!

I'm no kimchi expert, but this stuff is wonderful. I first tried it for the health benefits as I have been adding more fermented foods into my diet. It may be a condiment for some going well with beef, fish, etc, but I just eat it out of the jar! I love the spiciness! Thank you Walmart for carrying this!!!

Very good stuff. I always get the spicy version if it's available. If not, I get the mild and add crushed red pepper and tabasco. It's crunchy and juicy at the same time. Sort of like a big drink of napa. I usually eat it out of the jar, but it's a little too hot for my wife that way. But it's good on a sandwich or in a salad, too. I could eat the whole jar in a sitting. Yeah, it's a little pricey for something that's mostly cabbage, but it's pretty complicated to make--I've tried, and mine was too fishy and weird. This is best left to people who know what they're doing.

Found this in the Walmart Produce section in the refrigerated salads. Tried it and was surprised to find that it has a good taste and makes me want to eat more and more. It does not stink and leave a smell even after leaving the jar open. Great stuff and will continue to buy as long as Walmart sells them.

I have only been eating kimchi for the past 6 months so I am not an expert, but I love this product. It is made from crunchy Nappa cabbage and I really like the taste. It is spicy, but not the kind of spicy that burns my tongue and makes it impossible to taste anything afterward. I think it is addictive and try to eat it every day because I read that it has a lot of health benefits. It is fermented, so when you open the jar you will see the liquid bubbling, but it never spilled out over the edge on any jars I have opened. That first time I saw the bubbles, though, it was quite a surprise. I am glad this kimchi does not contain any fish products and I will continue to purchase it. I am grateful Wal-Mart carries this.

I have been looking for kimchi in my part of the country, luckily Walmart does stock this brand. Cruchy, somewhat on the slightly spicy side, without leaving the famous "kimchi" breath that true Korean fermented in the ground kimchi will give you. Since trying Kings Kimchi, I have visited a couple of Asian markets, but neither had anything that was as good as Kings. By the way, this is one of the "zero carbs, zero calorie foods, your body will spend more calories to process than the food actually contains. 10 calories per 1 ounce, no MSG added.
