I am/was a diehard hot dog fan, but with recent high cholesterol readings and the need to loose some weight, I knew I had to make some changes. So I purchased a box of these hot dogs. They are a bit pricey compared to the ones I was used to buying, but I have to say, they really did hit the spot. I read some of the reviews before purchasing and followed the suggestion that boiling them was the best way to heat them up. They were great!! I'm a convert for sure.
The flavor and texture are spot on, and that's not always the case for vegan products. They're very "meaty" and tasty. We highly recommend that they're cooked in an air fryer because they get nice and brown on the outside and stay tender on the inside. They're so yummy when used for vegan chili cheese hotdogs. Add a little chopped onion and mustard and boom!! So delicious! Just try them. You won't be disappointed.
I have not had meat in 6 years or hot dogs in decades. I am not sure what made me buy these but wow, I love them. I even had it for breakfast. Can't get over it. How do they do it? I am hooked. I do the easy way. Cover it with water and nuke for 2 1/2 minutes in my microwave, then cut up in pieces. I already went back and bought 3 more boxes. Just give them a try. I'm glad I did.
These taste like hot dogs. The best way to prepare them is to boil them in water for 8 minutes. Microwave makes them rubbery.
I boiled these and the only differences I notice between these and regular hot dogs, was there's no snappy casing-- they are way softer than the bun. And they are lacking spices. But overall, I prefer these to regular meat because I can't stand gristle or other chunks in my hot dog. I will try them in a skillet next time to see how it changes the texture, if at all.
I was pleasantly surprised how good these hotdogs are. If you didn't know they were vegetarian, you couldn't tell the difference. I have only tried them by frying them. I think the amount you get is small for the price, but over all pretty good
These are the best veggie dogs ever. And Walmart is the only retailer I know of that sells them! I kind of wish they could make a jumbo size. These are way tastier than the refrigerated ones that easily go bad. A
I absolutely love these and I am unable to locate them anywhere. I have tried other brands that taste horrible, so nothing compares to the MorningStar Farms Veggie Dogs. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK! I miss having my vegetarian chili dogs. You guys make the corn dogs so why not the veggie dogs?
These dogs truly suprised me! i coooked them for me along side Nathans hot dogs for the less adventurous %26 couldn't tell which was which! I fried them in cast iron, then added a little water to steam them through and they were great for cheesy chili dogs. Truly surpised and impressed. I dont eat a lot of hot dogs because they are so unhealthy but I feel good about these. Definitely a happy buyer!
