We first purchased a metal gate that was pressure mounted with a gate and almost 3 times the price of this gate. When we installed it in order to get it tight enough that my daughter could not shake it the door would not open, when we had it so the door would open it was not tight enough. This product was less expensive, easier to install, and I find it easy to step over. It is in a 48 inch opening. It took me all of 3 minutes to set it up after reading the instructions and I bet it will take even less time the next time I install it.
Easy to use, lightweight and neutral colors. Would not recommend for high traffic areas b/c it is just mesh but works great to block off our fireplace.
I love this baby gate. It does what it is meant to, the plus is since its mesh, the baby can see into the next room to see what his big brother is doing when he leaves the room.
i got this item cuz i have a new grandbaby thats crawling now and the opening to my kitchen was very large it's a perfect fit...and now with puppies here too it keeps them safe...very nice item..
I have twins that will be turning one year old soon, and one of them is walking. The other is on the verge. They are extremely mobile now, and our living room connects to several other areas of the house, without traditional doorways. We needed a gate between the LR and the breakfast nook, but the space is larger than most standard gates will accommodate. My husband and I refuse to drill holes into the wall, and so this gate was perfect. It extends plenty wide enough to fit our 52in opening, and it is a tension mount, so we don't have to worry about hardware. It was pretty easy to install (read the directions) and is very sturdy. Several reviews say that its not good for pets because of the mesh center piece. We have a 25# beagle/heeler mix that is 3 1/2 years old and she has never tried to scratch at it, stand up to it, or otherwise permeate the gate. She just finds another way to get where she wants to go. If your pet/s are well trained, you should be fine with this gate. We've had it up for a little over a week now, and it is working GREAT!
This gate is good for low traffic areas and when you don't want/need to hardware mount a gate. It was very easy to set up and get an even fit even with baseboards. We have this gate up to keep our daughter out of the dining room/kitchen since we have an opening into our kitchen through the dining room we just block off the entry to the dining room so she stays out of both rooms. But it's easy to take down when we are having company or something. Also keeps our dog out of there but the cat can still jump over it.
I love this baby gate! It is perfect for wide doorways. Love that my little guy can't get his fingers caught in this gate like most other gates. I have not had any problems with it at all. I have 2 so far and just ordered number 3 to use at his grandparents house.
I had looked on multiple websites and in multiple stores (including Wal-Mart), but could not find a gate that met my needs. This is the only gate that I found that was a) wide enough, and b) not required to be attached to a wall. It is also great fun for my 14 month old when he's trying to see through it, push toys under it, and press his face into it. The rubber stoppers on the ends of the frame don't leave any marks on the wall and we take it down and put it up quite frequently throughout the day. It is short enough to step over (I'm 5'4"), but plenty tall enough for toddlers. Finally, the price is definitely a bargain!
This is perfect for keeping three of my 18 months-24 months old grandchildren out of my computer room (they love turning my computer on and off!) The doorway is 5 feet wide and I didn't expect to be able to find anything for it. This is perfect and sooo easy. I just leave it extended at the length I need it and release the edges so it folds sort of like an accordion, then just store it in some out of the way corner til I need it and then it's already the right width. Piece of cake...love it!
I found this gate to be verry safe. It can be tightened agenst the wall well enough and if the baby falls and hits her head its soft so she dosnt get hurt. However my husband and I agree its an iretateing thing to set up and take down as often as u please. The top pole is actually two poles, one scrues into the other to make the gate short or long the same is with the bottom poles. The thing thats irretateing is screwing it up agenst the wall when the rubber ends of the gate poles touching the wall are hard to turn tightly. Its not too bad though I still think its worth the money and safty. However my husband would tell you not to get this product becouse it irretates him too much.
