ok. this product is wonderful for newborn babies who are constantly moving around while sleeping. I bought this one for my second child who was such a fidgetty sleeper. He was constantly smacking himself in the face and waking up every couple minutes. This little miracle put an end to that! Of course he hated being strapped in it, but it helped him to sleep better, and therefore mommy and daddy slept better. I only wish I knew about it for my first son!
This is a great swaddler for parents without the patience to try folding a regular blanket into a swaddler. It's especially great if your little one likes keeping his arms out. And I love how the leg pouch and side wraps are separate, meaning the side pieces only wrap around his torso, not his legs, leaving him free to kick around while keeping his body snug. The fabric is a bit stretchy, which is great and it has washed up nicely quite a few times already. It also has a small slit around the butt area for the car seat buckle to fit through. Definitely a must have for first-time parents with a newborn. We put him to sleep in just a kimono wrap shirt, knit cap, socks and the swaddler. Perfect temperature. We also have a fleece in same size that is just as good, though obviously a bit bulkier and not so stretchy. It's great for cooler nights. One tip: be sure to put him high enough on it before wrapping if you're tucking in his arms. Otherwise, it can bunch up around his neck (see photo) which worried me that it would cover his mouth and pose a breathing issue.
This product is made well and meets expectations. It also washes up very well. This keeps my son from hitting himself in the face and waking up. Walmart.com does not show the size-- the size of this product is a small- fitting babies from 8 to 14 pounds. I do believe this would still fit for awhile after 14 pounds as they are adjustable. They come in premie, small, and large.
I started swaddling using a blanket, but my baby is an active one, and her arms would always come out, so she'd wake up after only an hour or two. I could never get the blanket swaddled tightly enough. She seemed to like her arms free to sleep, so I was about to give up on swaddling. Then I started using this, and right away, she would sleep 1-2 hours longer at night! At 3 months old, she can often go a 7-8 hour stretch (and she's exclusively breastfed.) The velcro on it really helps keep her in there, and the tighter she is swaddled, the longer she sleeps. I don't know how I'd manage without it!
Organic cotton is very important to our family and the fact that this swaddles infant snug as a bug in a rug as they say, is perfect for the little ones, this is old school with a nice twist.
As moms know, MOST babies love to be swaddled as newborns. Mine did anyways, and since this swaddler is organic, that means it's safe for baby too. Really a great way to start your baby off healthy.
This is a wonderful product. I was going to use the Halo blanket sleepers but due to my little man's colic a friend recommended I swaddle the baby. The baby had a good nights sleep and it helped with the jumping around and moving he did before using this product. I would use this for the first three months than move on to the Halo blanket sleepers
My daughter enjoys being swaddled when she sleeps. She loves this swaddler. Because she gets hot easily and we live in FL, I spent the extra money to get the cotton. It seems to work fine for her. It's still not easy to change their diapers with it on. It would make more sense if the velcro for the bottom flap was on the outside of the blanket. Other than that, it works great!
I love this blanket. My son would wiggle out of regular blankets when I swaddled him and then I bought this product. He is 5 1/2 months old and still uses it. He sleeps great in it!
From all that I've heard, babies love to be swaddled, and this product is perfect for me and my hubby -- we both struggled during baby care classes to swaddle right with a blanket. This product takes out all that unecessary effort and will make our baby happy!
