Bright. Beautiful. Blazing Fast.

I went and purchased my Galaxy Nexus yesterday after receiving an email from Samsung announcing it had finally arrived. After less than 30 minutes in the store of them setting it up and getting it initiated, I was done. I downloaded a few app there in the store and went along my day. The screen is beautiful, view-able from almost any angle, bright when needed and always colorful. The TI OMAP4 processor and GPU are blazing fast and runs even heavy games like Wind-Up Knight and N64 emulations flawlessly. Additionally, 720p video is rendered flawlessly; I watched SALT last and it was beautiful. The SAMOLD HD screen is once again, beautiful. The 4G LTE is amazing. While on 4G, I have pulled speeds constantly >30 mbps download and >18 mpbs upload; which is roughly 4 times faster than my Bellsouth DSL internet connection at home. The Zero lag shutter for the camera is amazing too. I can take sequential picture within the same second. The panoramic picture taking is very cool as well. It eliminates that need to render panoramic at a computer from several pictures taken. It works fast and the rendering is done well. Crisp pictures are saved even when lighting conditions are not the best. Although I have owned the pone from little more than 24 hours, I am more than pleased with the overall performance of the Galaxy Nexus and if I could buy a 2nd Nexus just to have, I would.

Anyone using iPhone that uses this phone will throw iPhone away. and now they have a Swype Beta that works wonderfully. Came from Droid X and there is no comparison.

Great Phone - battery life/sound terrible!

This is a great phone and I only 4 starts on Performance due to the lousy battery that is with it. 1850 is by far not enough to get you through a 6 hours of your day. Even the extended 2100 is pushing it, but I manage with it. The features of this phone though is GREAT! I am only my second device only due to cracking the screen on my first one, rather than sending it in to Sammy I bought a used on for close to the same price as them repairing it. If you are a heavy users as in always have the phone in your hand doing something with it then you'll need to get the larger extended battery, most do not come with NFC support but power is what we love. Other downfall that I have to give this phone is the sound. Poor sound output. ICS sounds was great but JB not so much. Hopefully another update with fix this.

Nexus is Prime!

I had read all about the soon to be released "Nexus Prime" and eagerly awaited for the phone to come out. I was a bit disappointed in how long it took for this phone to be released but it was every bit worth the wait! Most android phones seem to get sluggish as they age, this phone is 6 months old and feels just like new! This phone has also not been outdone by the most recently released phones. The Galaxy Nexus continues to hold its own!

95/100 for a great flagship device

This phone was mostly worth the wait. The screen, responsiveness, and all the other hardware is great. Battery life on 3G isn't too bad as long as I'm not using too many apps, otherwise it will drain pretty quickly. There IS a problem with multi-touch, as has been reported. It's a software problem I think. Holding it in landscape mode(with the top of the phone in your left hand), there's a problem with the bottom-right portion of the screen if you're using multi-touch. The camera has been pretty solid as advertised, especially in well-lit situations. Lately I've had a problem where I can't sync music to it from my computer. I can bluetooth and download without problems, and sync to my old Android phone, but it suddenly won't work on this one...further testing needed here. Also, it got tiny scratches on the screen while in my pocket one day. Luckily, it's barely noticeable, but the "fortified" glass really isn't as solid as I'd hoped. Had to order a case just to make sure nothing else went wrong while in pocket. Picture of the scratches are included. Other than these things and a few software related problems, this phone will make a solid flagship device for the next few months. It's great features and handling of ICS more than makes up for the few shortcomings. I can barely put it down.

A great Phone

This is really a great phone. ICS is a major improvement. The camera takes excellent pictures, even though it's only 5 megapixels. The phone is light weight, and the display is fantastic. The battery life is not great, but with a car charger it works for me. Samsung was quick to offer two battery upgrades, a 2100 and a 3800, so battery life really isn't a problem. This is truly the nicest phone I've ever owned and with Jellybean on the way next year it was a no brainer.

The best smartphone on the market

This phone is smart, fast (I've registered 25 mbps downloads and 16 mbp upload). Ice Cream Sandwich is a much more mature OS. It's clean, easier to use and simpler than any other Android system. I would have preferred a better battery life but that's the price to pay for such an amazing piece of technology. Regarding the build quality I have to say that it's great. Don't listen to those who think plastic cannot be sturdy. Go and buy it but keep in mind some of my points above (battery life for instance) while making your decision.

Great Phone; some room for improvement

I wouldn't trade a nexus phone for any "better" phone, such as the S3 or note 2, BUT it lacks HDMI out and removable SD Card, greatly lacks battery performance (regardless of stock or mod), and the plastic backing is not great (not a big deal though). Signal is also not great on this phone, but that might be location dependent (have heard this complaint a lot online, though). On the positive side, the super AMOLED display rocks, and the ability to easily flash whatever I want makes it irreplaceable until the next nexus comes out.

Great product bad Quality Control

I have been using smart phones ever since they came out. I am not completely happy with the SGN. My only complaints are: 1) The battery could be larger and therefore hold a longer charge. I am not interested in buying an extended battery, it should have been included from the start period. 2) The back of the phone gets very hot particularly around the the camera lens area. I even notice it through a protective case. My thinking is that if it feels hot to me outside a protective case this sucker must be almost red hot in the phone itself, i'll bet it will eventually cause a problem (see next issue). 3) When I got the phone I noticed a line in the screen from the top left, diagonally to the right about 1/4 down the screen. Now, you can't see this "defect" unless the screen is black and held at a particular angle with light shining on it. Yes, I just described what seems to be a "crack" on a phone straight from the manufacturer. Seems to me that the incredible heat being generated by this phone is one of the culprits which could be causing this issue. I am not the only one who is seeing this, Certain popular forums are getting full of posts referring to this issue. Issue 3 was a total disappointment and is the main reason why I am rating the phone so low. I would prefer to give it a higher rating but my practical side just will not let me. I will say that the Carrier I got the phone from was very professional and graciously replaced the phone under manufacturers warranty. The only problem with this is that I am getting a refurbished unit not a new one, quite disappointing. Would I recommend this phone to a friend? Probably not. Why didn't I just give up on this phone and get something else? Well, I am a developer and am developing applications for the Android platform otherwise I would have gone with something else.
