The most fun I've had with a camera is with the M100. If you enjoy taking photos but want something more than phones do, this is your camera. The touch screen controls are quite good. The fully automatic mode takes great pictures! The creative assist is helpful, and the various modes - like handheld night shot - do a great job. The decisions it makes on a lot of elements of what a camera does are really superb and free the user from having to think about them. You also have a program mode, so if you are used to today's cameras, you also have that control when you want it. I think this camera fits a nice niche for those who want more than a phone offers (the lens is the thing here) but also those, like me, who sometimes just want simplicity but great image quality as well - and the M100 delivers on both.
Finally i have this kind of camera in my hand now!! This is all ive been eyeing for so long... with built in wifi, blurtooth and nfc! Sooo much easier to upload pics direct to my phone.. goodbye USB! :) still learning for the features... and im looking forward to buy an extra lens later on...
We absolutely LOVE this camera! Aside from a phone camera this is the only actual camera I have actually owned, and I must say it is super easy to use and navigate for a beginner as myself. The picture quality is clean and with sharp images and it is small and light weight! We have had and used this on our DoubleDaysFamily YouTube channel for a couple months now and receive amazing comments about it from viewers, family, and friends. Did I mention the fantastic FLIP SCREEN!!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!
I have the 5dIV that is used mostly for paid work or challenging lighting situations, but I needed a small camera to stick in my purse, or take on a trip. This camera fit the bill beautifully. I used it recently while in NYC and was very happy with the photos I captured. I also use it when walking my dog...and have snagged some lovely photos!
Having many Canon DSLR's over the years, I wanted to try the mirrorless model that suited my needs for small size while traveling. I purchased the camera, the kit lens and the EF lens adapter. When I received the camera, I put my EF lenses on the M100 to see if they were truly compatible. They are. But the EF-M lenses are not very expensive, so I purchased the 22mm lens and just purchased the 11-22 to get even wider for landscape shots. Although the images are not as solid as my 5D Mark IV with L lenses, they are wonderful and will do well for a long vacation where the camera and lenses will all fit in a small bag. Some people may say a phone camera is just as good, but they are wrong. Having the ability to get RAW images to edit has many advantages. This camera also offers me much more because I can use the adapter and attach L lenses.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and although I am an experienced portrait photographer, I have sold all my gear and downsized to this model because of the capabilities and flexibility in this small, but powerful camera., I can go full automatic or all manual, not constrained, and this is all I need at this point in my life.
I was wanting to downsize from my previous cameras and I felt the M100 gave me the best balance between features and tech specs. I was fortunate enough to have the EF-S to EF-M adapter, which gives me an amazing catalog of lenses to choose from. I've enjoyed how easy the camera is to use and when combined with the EF-M 22mm lens, you have a great 35mm point and shoot. Yes, there's some mirrorless cameras that are loaded with features (I've had them and found I never used them), but this camera just has a great balance. I'm not a beginner, but it'll be great for those wanting to get into digital photography. For advanced users, you get a great package for your money. I'd give this camera a solid 8.5/10, it's great value for the money.
Love my new little camera - it's very easy to use, and it's given me some very high quality photos and video in the short time we've been together. My only disappointment is that there is no audio input for connecting a better quality microphone for video. While the audio is good enough for point-and-shoot video, it's not quite the professional sound I am needing. But again - I love this camera, and if it had an aux input, it would be perfect!
In the past, I had two canon entry level point and shot cameras. I took Canon M100 to step up for APS-C size sensor with very small size and weight. My primary purpose was to use it during parties or travel. It is great for that. Although, I miss the automatic camera lens cover up like in a point and shot. Now every time I have to put the lens cap, that is the only thing I miss otherwise I have no issue with the camera.
This Camera is a good start for the beginner, especially who like to take a selfies. The function is easy to use and also easy to find in this Camera.
