Installed PAC RP4-CH11 in my 2014 Jeep Renegade for radio replacement and steering wheel control. Front and rear cameras added, both functioning well. Wireless connection takes a minute, while wired connection is quick. Had to experiment with instructions for desired settings. Radio has clear display and responsive touch screen. Two camera setup allows easy override of safety restrictions, useful for off-road use. Apple CarPlay works perfectly.
This product is unique in its mid-cheap range for offering wireless Apple CarPlay. It works great, connecting to the stereo in just 10 seconds. This feature stands out as I couldn't find it in other products. While Boss may not be the most reliable brand, the wireless Apple CarPlay is a game changer. I strongly recommend this product.
Wireless Apple CarPlay makes phone connectivity easy. The screen is decent with customizable LED colors. It's all touchscreen, no physical buttons. Installation can be challenging for beginners, but overall, it's a solid product at a good price.
After my Kenwood DDX series started having issues, I needed a replacement with Car Play and Android Auto. I found the Boss Elite BE950WCPS with Wireless Car Play and Android Auto. Connecting with Maestro RR was possible with the right cables. The wiring was straightforward despite the lack of a diagram. The unit starts up quickly and the backup camera is clear. Both Android and iPhone paired easily for Car Play and Android Auto. The sound quality is impressive, and the radio offers navigation, music streaming, and backup camera display. It may lack some advanced features but is a great budget-friendly option with excellent features.
The system offers both features, which was a pleasant surprise when my girl and I switched phone manufacturers.
I purchased this for its wireless car play feature, which works great. It connects quickly when the car starts up and is snappier than expected with Apple car play. The screen is good for navigating apps. It is a standard double din size and was easy to install in my 2009 4Runner. The volume button placement is a bit inconvenient on the side of the screen, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
The installation lacked instructions, but the labeled wires matched the Metra harness. Running cables for cameras, microphone, and USB jack was time-consuming. Android Auto works only when phone is plugged in due to phone's outdated Bluetooth profiles.
I was worried about the wireless Android Auto models, but they work well with automatic connection and standard AA features. The installation guide is poor, but a wiring harness with better instructions can help. Sound quality is decent with an adjustable equalizer. I'll update if any issues arise.
I replaced my factory head unit with the Boss Audio BE950WCPA for better functionality. The new unit offered Bluetooth streaming, wired/wireless Apple CarPlay, and retained AM/FM radio and backup camera. The screen is glossy, prompting some to consider an anti-glare protector. Installation in a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with Navigation required cutting a plastic bracket in the subdash. Overall, the unit is responsive and meets my needs.
The unit is decent, but there are numerous unfixed bugs, such as volume settings not saving over 10 and the front camera needing to be re-enabled. Many users have reported these issues for months without any updates from the company. Overall, Boss is criticized for producing subpar products.
