I lost strength in my legs recently and needed to sit down during a shower. I used this tub bench for about 2 weeks until I could stand again for the whole shower. The bench is compact and lightweight. It is easy to move around in the shower. The legs are easily adjustable to various heights. One concern is that the seat is a hard plastic surface. It can become slippery if you get soap on it. Sitting on a small towel would probably help that or just be careful with the soap. It allows you to use a hand held shower head while you are sitting. It stores nicely in the product box until needed again.
Easy to put together great for relaxing and shaving in a hot shower.
The shower chair looks like the picture and arrived on time those are the pluses but, it's too wide for my shower. This vendor through Walmart doesn't accept returns, those are the minuses.
It was great in the beginning. However, with daily use, the legs started to splay apart. Now it feels unsafe to use. Disappointing. I may try to find a way to use giant zip ties to make cross straps or something else to keep the legs stable. Maybe it can be used as an ordinary stool on solid ground. I doubt I would trust it for showering though. It's just too scary to think of it collapsing while using in a slippery environment.
The bench itself is nice, easy to put together. Giving 3 stars because their customer service department never got back with me. The bench was too large for my tub so I can't use it. Won't order from this company again.
Doesn't work if the shower isn't perfectly flat. Bought this to use after knee surgery, I'm about 175lb and this happened. Ordered a different brand that had an additional cross-brace between the legs. Luckily I was able to transfer to a chair outside of the shower without it completely failing, which would have been a very bad outcome.
This bench was supposed to hold a 300 lb person. My husband is about 5'10" and 195 lbs and today it collapsed. The aluminum legs just caved and he fell and cracked his elbow. He is 87 and recovering from neck surgery. Lucky I was nearby and helped him get out of the shower. He didn't even have time to use the grab bar in the shower because the fall was so fast. He is fortunate not to have injured his neck any further, but any fall for a 87 year old will be damaging to someone frail. On another note, his Drive walker also collapsed and the metal piece connecting the legs to the front bent outwards and somehow cut a 3" slice of his scalp. So, no...I cannot ever risk him to using a Drive product. Beware.
Over all depth is 15". The seat is 12" but legs extend past seat. Drive does not offer refunds or returns. Though it does state under product that they do. When you process return Walmart sends an email on your behalf but you will never hear anything back. I would not recommend purchasing from a company that does not stand behind there products for returns as Drive DeVilbiss stated. Live chat with Drive was useless but I did attach 1 of the screen shots I took from part of the conversation from them. Walmart said that they will take care of the issue once product is not used and still has tags and packing attached. Also a big thank you to the customer care rep, Kristine. She was so pleasant and helpful. Rare to find such a pleasant customer care rep.
This seat was too wide for my tub area. Could not safely use it. Need to return it.
The shower chair is not wjat i expected. the legs on rhe chair are unless and they dont hold up like they should . the chair isnt even good enough to set down on you have to worry about tge legs turning are moving out of place.
