I have been using these hose for many years. I was thrilled with the addition of the wide band and silicone dots. It stopped the hose from falling and from digging into my legs. Because I have several pairs at one time, I wish compression hose weren't so expensive.
I love the silicone top, it really holds up the compression socks. I have short legs, so traditional socks were too long. Having a sock that fits me is much better than ones that cut into my knees. The only thing that looks odd, but doesn't feel odd, is the toes. They have a large area that covers the toes. It's larger than most normal knee highs and just looks strange. But it does not interfere with the fit at all. I'm diabetic and in the long run, this is probably an extra protection.
These are aptly named as they do provide relief. I got them because of the top. It works wonderfully and I’m not in pain because there is no binding at the top. I’m so thankful!
I have worn compression knee highs for years, and have had a problem with the top band rolling down to create a rubber band effect under my knees. This product solves that issue perfectly! Easy to put on, great fit, & comfortable to wear all day & evening. Have already ordered more.
The Jobst Relief Knee Highs with Silicone Band have made all the difference for my leg swelling. My leg became visibly less swollen within a week and has now returned to normal size. I use them in conjunction with exercises received from my Physical Therapist who recommended the Jobst brand.
First let me applaud the prompt handling. Socks are what they are advertised to be. They are doing a great job of holding the swelling down. First time I put them on it was a challenge. But they are compression socks and purpose is to be tight
I would have loved these if I could have gotten them in a "short" - the size I needed was only available in the unisex/standard length. The fit was great otherwise - ordered a wide calf even though the sizing would have me in a standard calf. I have worn compression stockings for 27 years, and Jobst is now my preferred brand. The main reason for this is the foot bed portion of the stocking - it has good compression around the arch and into the ankle. In addition (with the open toe variety) the foot bed is longer than other brands and stays where it belongs, ending right where my toes begin. The other brands have short foot beds and end up all bunched up at the arch, with practically no compression until you get above the ankle (which is contraindicated for folks with venous stasis.)
Just to notify others about the color: Jobst's Beige picture provided to retailers looks light in the online picture, but it's actually DARK TAN. I took a picture to post, but don't know how to do that. Opening the package was a shock—quite a contrast with my very white skin! I would have returned them but I needed them and they'd already been on back order. Just a side note—my size Large measurements are at the low end of the measurement range for the ankle so the stocking forefoot is looser than it should be, and my calf measurements are at the top of the measurement range for the calf so it is super tight there and the seam edge of the band digs deeply into my (dare I say "fat"?) area below my puffy arthritic knees. I think I can live with it unless the compression isn't right because of my leg shape. vs the stockings. So be careful when you measure and you might want to try to be sure you are close to the middle of the spread within sizes. The only fault here lies with my odd shaped skinny ankles and puffy knees and I was too close to the extremes within the measurement spread for the closest size. I'm also 5'8", have long legs, and wear a size 10-11 women's shoe; got the Large Regular size and it's about an inch overall too long and leaves wrinkles in my skin where it folds into my ankles. These are very good quality compression knee highs. I feel they're better than Allegro Medical Grade Knee Highs in looks and as far as compression goes, and they feel great (except size slightly misfit for me), and the silicone band keeps them in place all day. They're wonderful. I wish they came in a lighter shade, and of course that my calves and knees were smaller! Allegro fit me better and have a little lighter shade. I love BrightLife—I can't imagine trying to navigate compression wear without such a superior company.
Not as advertised-The stockings came with silicone dots not with a silicone band. Dots are not nearly as helpful to hold the stockings up so I wouldn’t order it again.
I wanted to try Jobst w silicone band since I normally buy Mediven with silicone band and they are more expensive. I opened the package and saw how narrow the band is on Jobst brand. It will most likely curl up easier than the Mediven brand with silicone. I wanted to return the item but realize that I cannot return. One place it says 180 days return, another place it says 30 days.I have not used or tried the stocking on.
