Great little DVD/CD Drive, I use it with a NUC 11Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro, works great and the attached cable you can't beat it and can't lose it!
The ZenDrive V1M is a great optical drive. It works great and is very convenient w/ the well designed cord storage feature! The price is only slightly higher than "generic" no name brand drives and worth the investment. Highly Recommended!
For what it is, it works great but what makes this stand out from other external disk drives is how Asus modernized it. Not exactly a humongous feat to behold but nice that Asus took the time to do so. My last portable one used a splitter and required 2 USB A ports (one for power, one for data) but my new Asus Flow Z13 only has 1 and the rest are USB C. Enter this guy and it just works. Looks great and easy to use.

Ordered and received this external dvd external drive for my new windows11 laptop a timely manner. For me it was a plug and play with no problems. Watched an old movie I bought years ago, and the pic was perfect. Love the type C cord setup and how it is stored.. .........................Thanks........................
I plugged in the USB-C connector that is included with the device. Windows 11 found it without having the load any drivers and it was able to read an old burned CD I had. I was able to play a CD and it worked perfectly. I would have preferred a slightly longer USB cable, but I can always get an extender. I will try burning disks next, but I do not anticipate any diffieculties. I would recommend giving this DVD burner a spin!
Did not work on my Mac Air. Apple Support could not help. ASUS support referred me to their next level of support and sent a form for me to fill out. My email had multiple warnings recommending I not open the attachment. I did take a look at it, and it was asking for info I could have never figured out. Even though the box declares it works with Mac OS, it did not.
I found that there are no instructions, which I found very frustrating. Only directions are to plug it in. My laptop is new with the latest version of Windows 11. I plugged in the drive and nothing happened?
