I bought this for my son, and he says it is great quality and very comfortable to wear.
I am rating this five stars because of what you get for the cost. I also have a $450 Shoei helmet. Is the Fuel helmet as safe or aerodynamic or better quality as the Shoei? No, but it fits my cheeks and jaw much better than the Shoei and I can wear a medium whereas I have to wear a large in the Shoei helmet making my head look supersized. The higher safety ratings make helmets nowadays much larger. This Fuel helmet looks good on my head and for the fit and cost I give it five stars. Of course if I crash, I'd rather be wearing a high dollar helmet.
This helmet does fit well and seems to be made well except for a small rubber piece in the front. It seems to not be fitted properly from the factory and fell out. But with a little patience it can be fit correctly and it will stay in. The only problem I have with this helmet is that I can't find replacement face shields for less than 24 dollars. I am still looking but that seems a little steep for a 75 dollar helmet. The ventilation is excellent, however it does have some aerodynamic issues over 75 mph. Beware 0f turning your head at high speeds. It can also be quite difficult to put glasses on while wearing this helmet.
I was looking for a cheap helmet to take to the drag strip. It looked nice on the outside, nice glossy paint and air vents on the front and top. The inside padding looked and felt thin and the front visor was very hard to move. The helmet also had this very light, hollow like felling to it. Fit was good but when I took it off, a rubber piece on the bottom came out flying. Tried to put it back and it didn't fit. At closer inspection I notice how cheaply made this helmet is. Very few spots with glue and the glue was powder like. The pads on the bottom were already coming apart and didn't fit properly with the helmet. The hole thing just felt like it was ready to come undone at any time. Also the DOT rating was a sticker on the back, so not a good feeling that this thing is DOT rated or anything. I took this thing back to Walmart for a refund as soon as I could.
