[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only coffee I like is a dark roast. And my preference is drinking it black, but often with a dark the taste may be bitter or over roasted. So I often add cream to have that bold taste but mask any bitterness. So for me the ultimate test for a good roast is when I enjoy it without adding anything. I have been drinking these 6th Avenue Bistro pods completely black and love the taste so much. It's bold but smooth and leaves the most pleasant aftertaste. It's right up there with my favorite gourmet coffee brands without the hefty price tag. I'm a coffee snob and I'm hard to please, this coffee delivers.

For it being a dark roast, I'm impressed with how smooth it is. It has a nice velvety mouth feel to it. Will definitely get this brand again!
