I recommend two people to put it together. Just one person trying to do it by themselves may have a little difficulty. Once we got it together it looks great and functions excellently. We are very statisfied.
This piece looks awesome in my room, especially with the rest of the Urban Lane furniture. Make sure you check all the pieces when you open the package for correct quantity and to make sure there are no cracks. The company is helpful with replacing damaged parts, but it definitely slows down the process of getting it together. Be gentle taking the pieces out of the box so you dont nick them. Also -- prepare to have endless amounts of styrofoam all over the room as the packaging gets all over the place. Overall, a great product at a great price. I put it together myself in a couple of hours.
This is the second of this dresser that I have purchased. The quality for the price is outstanding. The drawers are deep and sturdy. The appearance is appealing. This is not high-priced name -brand furniture, but, it is very useful and a very good value. One piece was recieved broken and it was replaced within 3 days. Realistically, for the price you can't beat it!
We have been looking for this specific dresser for 6 years and found it at Walmart! In 2002, we bought a Scandinavian Designs bed frame and 2 night stands called the DREAM series. We didn't have enough money to buy the dressers to match the set. Then, when we were ready to buy the dressers, they no longer sold that model! That's when our search for the matching dressers started and lasted until now when we randomly walked in our local Walmart and found the dresser. It is an EXACT copy of the Scandinavian Designs model for a fourth of the price!!! It's got the same modern Cappucino color, same leg, same drawer indent, exact same handles. The only slight differences are: the finish and the quality of the drawer rolling system, but hey, it's a 4th of the price compared to Scandinavian Designs! Only negatives: 1) the parts should have been better packaged - 2 parts had cracks. But we called them and they sent us new parts in perfect condition. 2)We wished they also have the other kind of dresser - 6 drawer long and flat - so that it can complement the entire bedroom set. Overall, 5 stars for value, design, and functionality. Attached is the picture of the Walmart Urban Lane dresser next to the Scandinavian Designs Dream nightstand and bedframe.
Already having the matching platform bed, I was excited to find this dresser while browsing the store. The price was good for the size and the style. I got more than I expected. The Bad: The instruction booklet WAS difficult to follow since it had no actual instructions (only pictures). Assembly was somewhat time consuming. If you're considering purchasing this product, I have read all the reviews since buying this product and all of the bad ones are obviously people who were shipped damaged product or who put it together wrong. In my opinion, there's no way the drawers can't close all the way because the drawers are inset but it's easy to put the tracks on wrong (I experienced this through trial and error due to poor instructions). The instability noted in some of the reviews is most likely due to incorrectly attaching the back panel (which is a little hard to attach also but can be done with good balancing or an extra set of hands). I was satisfied with the size of the drawers for one person. The wood glue enclosed isn't entirely neccessary (I didn't use it). Unless you plan on storing cinder blocks you'll be fine. It's a solid piece of furniture and very attractive if you like the modern look and feel. Great buy. I plan on buying the matching horizontal chest as well to complete my bedroom set. BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Very beautiful color of furniture. Easy assembly but could stand to be a lil more sturdy. Very spacious drawers. Two pieces was damaged and had to wait 2 days before the replacements came, but overall a very nice piece of furniture.
My husband and I ordered this product and we both liked it. I was worried that it wouldn't be big enough compared to the one we had previously but we have more than enough space so, it worked out perfect. Easy to assemble just takes a little bit of time :)
OK, yes this piece is very pretty. I bought the whole bedroom set (dresser, nightstand and pedestal bed). We opened the box of the dresser and it looked like a SNOW STORM! The styrofoam had been beaten to the point there was no structure left to it! There were 7 broken or cracked beyond repair, parts. I did call and order the replacement parts from the manufacturer this morning. From reading the other reviews, it looks like it should take 2-3 days to get those. We'll see. I do not recommend this brand because of the defects I have seen in every piece so far. And I can't even say that "for the money...." or "you get what you pay for", if this were a $50 dresser, maybe, but we spent $160 on this thing. For that, I DID expect more. The rest of the set is equally as cheaply made. Yes it looks pretty, but if the drawers don't shut, and the top is crooked and the plastic vinyl veneer that is covering very poorly made pressed board is chipping and peeling off STRAIGHT FROM THE BOX, then it doesn't even LOOK GOOD anymore. All together we paid $600 for the bedroom furniture. So yes, we did expect a bit more.
I personally did not have any problems with the contents in the package. All the parts were there and nothing was broken. Rather easy to put together. Its a dresser not that many features. After putting it together it is has almost no support to hold it together. The top gets bumped or moved it is very wobbly, feels as though it is going to snap from the poor support at the bottom. Although it would be a great product and a great value if it were put together and hardly ever moved. Had a slight issue with the drawers not going in but nothing a little oil on the tracks didn't fix. The outer finish will come off an chip very easily so be very gentile with it. Overall if it had better support to keep it stable it would be a great product. It does not so it gets a bad review from me. I still own this and it is still in one piece although very wobbly and a few slight chips in the finish. If you own or wish to buy this i recommend getting two 2x4 beams to nail into the back for added support to move the dresser around.
I was disappointed in this product, first off there was some pieces that were chipped and broken. Most of the parts are plastic. I returned it and was refunded with no problem....
