The kids borrow my socks all the time and never return them, so it was time for some new ones. I've seen these socks in the store several times, but I am glad to have received these from the Spark reviewer program. The socks are soft and cushiony. I did a five day test with a pair of these socks, wear them at work and then wash them that night and repeat the cycle again, I know that five days is not a good test of long term durability. I did not notice any loss of shape or discoloration of the socks. I also walked around the house, out on the deck and front porch in them and did not notice any defects in them. I wear a size 12 boot and during the test period, I was breaking in a new pair of boots, I also wore them with my old boots. The socks have a cushiony insole, an elastic feel to them that shaped nicely to my feet. They are a little warmer than I expected, but not uncomfortable. During my day of walking on concrete and climbing ladders all day the socks stayed in place and never slipped down my calves or into my boots. The reinforced toes and heels do not have any intrusive stitching that will rub against your skin. Made in the USA, fits nicely and a good sock for the winter, what more could you ask in a sock.
Ordered these socks for my husband, who is difficult to please when it comes to work socks. He works in the industrial HVAC area and is constantly climbing ladders and standing in pools of water from broken air conditioning units. When he gets home, the socks I was buying him at first were just about black from water, oil and whatever, and I've had to throw a lot of them away. When he tried these socks, though, he even called me from work and reported they felt great. He has always had a problem with socks falling down from the calf and bunching up in his work boots, but these stayed on just the way he put them on and didn't slide down at all. Second, he said they felt "comfortably tight," meaning a good fit. He wears a size 10 shoe and his feet feel like they're sliding around all day in some socks, but not these; they felt nice and comfortable without being too large or too constricting, either. Third, when I tossed them in the wash with the other socks, they got cleaner than the cheaper pairs, which I had not even expected, and my husband reports they're holding up "like new" even after several washes now. All in all, probably one of the best "sock experiences" he's ever had.
When I had the opportunity to try the Fruit of the Loom Ultimate 4-in-1 work sock for men in exchange for a review, I decided to try it. I am a woman with a long narrow foot and most of the women’s socks that I’ve tried don’t fit all that well. These socks worked out great. Now of course they wouldn’t work with dress shoes, etc. but to wear with sneakers or boots kicking around they are perfect. When I put them on it felt like I was walking on cushions (but they didn’t feel bulky) They felt good all day long and they stayed up without having to pull them up constantly (as I have with others) yet remained comfortable on the leg without leaving elastic marks. They have arch support-spandex around the arch to prevent bunching and "allows boot to snug closer to support the arch better"-it obviously works because my feet and legs felt great after a day of running around. They also have “sure-dry” moisture management to keep your feet cool and dry, and have additional padding in the leg which maximizes comfort in boots. These socks are all-around great for anyone looking for a comfortable,supportive,breathable sock that keeps your feet and legs feeling good all day.
These socks have a soft feel to them. My adult son wears those Croc shoes to work with socks. He usually wears the standard white crew socks with his Crocs, but I presented these socks to him and he loves them! He said they have all the benefits of wool socks, but they're not scratchy like wool is. They're warm and soft, and have a nice, cozy, fuzzy feel to them on the inside. He asked me to buy more! They have a close fit to them that offer support around the arch, and they also have padding. These socks are made in the USA too. I've washed them a few times and they are holding up great. I can imagine they would be great with work boots. It's good that they're not cotton, but they are a mix of acrylic, polyester, and spandex. This is a benefit in the winter, because cotton holds water against the skin, but these other materials don't.
These are the only work socks I buy. They fit a size 12 without being too tight. Tried other but they are too small always come back to these.
I never really understood the need for work socks verses regular socks but these Foot of the Loom work Gear Professional grade socks are absolutely fabulous! It feels like my boot fits better with these socks. They are thicker more comfortable than any other socks or work socks I've tried, even with big heavy boots on. The inside feels like a warm cozy hotel bathrobe because of the All Terry Comfort! They are78% acrylic, 16% polyester and 1% spandex. They keep your feet dry, they are breathable which I doubted upon first seeing them but it's true, and they provide arch support. The extra padding is awesome and provides so much more comfort. If you have to wear work boots all day you might as well make the best of it with these socks! They are supposed to be for sizes 6-12 but are a little big for sizes 10 and below. They probably need a 6-9 size range and then 10-12 size range.
Recently, I received a two pair pack of Fruit of the Loom Pro Work Gear Professional Grade The Ultimate 4-In-1 Work Sock (Picture enclosed). This is not an ordinary sock. First, it is made in the USA which always catches my eye when I see it on a product label. It is a generous crew length and long enough to cover the leg past the top of a work boot or shoe (It covered my leg up to the swell of my calf muscle.). The color is an attractive tweed pattern of black and gray with a nice texture due to the mix of acrylic, polyester and spandex. Just to compare, I put a Work Gear sock on one foot and a very ordinary, inexpensive crew sock on the other foot. The Work Gear had an almost five inch height advantage. The Work Gear fit my foot like a compression sock from the ball of my foot to the heel and up the leg while the other felt more like a tube sock in comparison – no fit and bulky in the wrong places. Sure enough when I checked the package information, the sock was designed to provide support and tight fit around the arch. I also noticed the sock had an all terry comfort lining, which is part of the Work Gear design. It made it very cushy and comfortable to wear. I noticed that my feet did not sweat and actually felt cool as I continued to wear the Work Gear sock which again is part of the design. All in all, a great sock.

The picture shows no discoloration in the socks or the socks losing their shape after five consecutive washings. The insole of the sock is very soft and cushiony, they stayed in place and never slide down my calves and into my boots. I walk a lot at work and climb a lot of ladders. They were a little warmer on my feet than expected, but nothing that I could not live with. The socks have a very elastic feel to them, so the shape to your feet and calves. The reinforced heels and toes had no intrusive stitching that would rub against your skin. I have a size 12 foot and these fit my feet nicely, I did use these socks when breaking in a new pair of boots. Made in the USA, fit well and a good sock for the winter, what more could you ask for from a sock.
These are not the same makeup as the original Fruit of the Loom Work Gear Pro socks. These seem to be thinner and the original were fluffy and thick and a pleasure to wear. I have not tried these yet so this review is handling not wearing.
Been buying the socks for a few years, both the grey and black and they do not seem the same as when I first started buying them, tighter and wear out faster. Found some in the back of the closet that were purchased a few years ago. The current socks being sold with the same bar code are 1/2 the size of the socks sold a few years ago. Higher price than a few years ago and 1/2 the sock. Black socks in picture are the old, grey socks were just bought this week. Will not be buying any more of these 1/2 size socks.
