The charger that comes with B&D trimmer took 8 hrs to charge a battery. This charger is made much better and took 1 1/2 hrs. to fully charge. Even tho they said 1 hr. to charge, I am very pleased with it. Was worth the money, to recharge the 2 batteries.
It helps me complete my projects without having to wait long for the batteries to charge!!
I have several B & D products that are cordless. The regular chargers will take quite a while to charge. This will have my 18 V batteries charged and ready to go in an hour.
My 18v batteries have some age and have seen lots of use and recharges. Recharges each to full charge in an hour or less. Worth its value and cheaper that replacement batteries.
this charger is great and charges quickly and keeps batteries charged. if I have a big yard day, I can recharge and re-use batteries over the day with no problem.
My previous Black & Decker charger became inoperable. I only found out about this after purchasing a new battery that didn't connect with the charger. Calling Black & Decker customer service, they directed me to the WalMart web site for a replacement charger. The price was very reasonable and was offered with free shipping by one of the businesses. It arrived several days early and my battery was charged within 2 hours. Very glad I didn't have to buy a new drill.
I had read that the charging time was greatly reduced with this charger but was shocked to find out how much. With my old charger I had to leave it on the charger all night, with this one it charged a drained battery in 20 mins. It could be my imagination, but I also think the battery has more power than before.
It seemed the small AC adapter that came with my drill never seemed to fully charge the battery. And it always took a long time for the battery to recover. This charger recharges the battery in a fraction of the time and seems to charge the battery more fully. I should have bought this charger years ago.
The charger works as promised; however, it did not charge the battery in an hour. It took over two and half hours but it does work. I am pleased with the product and would recommend to anyone to has tools, etc that needs a quick charge.
Item was removed out of factory package. When plugged in, lamp would not light up. Returning today. I will be going another direction.
