The bricks do not stay together and this castle will have pieces coming down with the slightest touch. The quality is poor and many bricks do not even fit together unless you take a knife to them and reshape the pegs and the holes. Unless you want to rebuild this castle every time your kid goes to play with it, stay away.
I paid much more at ToysRUs. Except for the action figure limbs, this would be a great quality toy. The legs on the "action" figures fall off much too easily and constantly, on most of the figures, some (really one) are fine. One of the arm mounts snapped off from faulty plastic while I was putting the arm back on, easy fix with super glue. Action figures are more decoration than functional for even the lightest play. MORE FOR MODELING THAN PLAY. Age guidelines are ridiculous, 6-12 is more realistic. With parental supervision and help in assembly, and storage of smallest ornamental parts, a mature 4 or 5 is fine. I can't imagine buying this for a 14 year old unless they are collecting or modeling, in which case it is great for any age.
I purchase this for my 7 year old son, thinking it would be like the Lego's Building sets. WRONG...the pieces don't hold together at all. They fall apart at the slightest touch. We've tried several times to put it together and thought of using super glue to keep in place but didn't work. The plastic is not quality like Lego's or k'nex brands. They don't snap tight. I hope this helps.
We tried for about 2 hours to put this castle together and the second anyone touched a piece put together, it would fall apart. Some of the pieces would not click together good. I am definitely going to return this!
