JBL claims that these speakers are inspired by the legendary M2 loudspeaker monitors. If you know about M2s or heard them you'd think that that is a pretty bold statement since M2s are arguably one of the best sounding Reference Monitors ever created. But after listening to these 180s I can understand what JBL means by "inspired". Arena 180 sounds amazingly good for its price. It probably could compete with loudspeakers in $700-$900 price range. It has a very strong and balanced low end and super crisp high frequency. The fact that it is sounding very consistent off-axis proves that it is a well-designed and well-constructed loudspeaker. Kudos to JBL!
I love my JBL Arena 180 because of its ease of use and deep rich bass and warfm higher tones... I've had it a couple months now and am absolutly thrilled and delighted with my selection. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Received these last night and all I can say is WOW, amazing detail! I can hear vibrato in a singers voice, the vibration and intricate details in a clarinet, can discern and separate different singers voices in a group of three. Bass is punchy AND smooth. The only negative is what you might expect in a 2 way, is that they are a little cold and lack the warmth of a 3 way speaker with a 4 inch mid-range speaker. They are warmer and give a larger sound than the Klipsch without the tweeter being as harsh. I've long loved the JBL tweeters and punch in JBLs. These deliver. If you can't afford the smooth Studio 280s and 290s or lack the amp power, then these hit that sweet spot and do the job perfectly. Due to the white and black look, I call them my JBL Stormtroopers.
I got these for Christmas and they are amazing. They can handle anything I throw at them
I've had my Arena 180's now for a few weeks... these towers are for real. My 180's are paired with Arena B15 surrounds, an Andrew Jones C22 center and 4 ATMOS ceiling mounted speakers. The 180's gel perfectly with the Arena surrounds giving a flawless surround field. My other speakers are EQ'd to tonally match the Arenas. Having said that? Now I know why Europe awarded these Best Home Theater. Purchased the Arena line to replace Klipsch Towers up front and I'm glad I did. Arena 180's are way smoother, less abrasive, with a more immersive, 3D sound filed. My system sounds like it should, FINALLY! MAGIC. ~Peace
