I've dropped my phone, thrown it in anger, even accidentally sent it down a flight of stairs, and this case has protected it. It is one heck of an insurance policy for those of us on a two-year contract. The warranty on the case is awesome too. The only downside was that I had to use the warranty. The silicone case became very loose around the edges, which made it challenging to use. Make sure you hold onto your receipt, because the silicone case lasted me almost a year before it wore out.
When I had a problem with silicone skin, stretching and becoming out of shape. Otter representatives were very co-operative, in helping me with this problem and I had the skin replaced within three days. Thanks for the prompt service and I would certainly recommend the purchase of Otter products.
I was always afraid to get an android phone for they looked so delicate. When I had to switch my carrier I decided to give it a try when the salesman John explained how the Otter box worked then actualy showed me his then threw it against the wall and when he retreived it he turned it on and proved it worked. I was more then impressed with your produce and would recommentd it to anyone who is having second thoughts. I have not had no problems with my phone since day one for the OTTER bos has been doing its job. Thank you John and Otter box for a produce I can trust.
I really do like the Otter box it is rugged and can take some punishment. The only downfall I see is that with time the oils in your hands react with the outer skin and it becomes soft and swells so that it no longer fits the under case tightly.
Because of several issues with my phone, I had to take it back to the store multiple times, whereupon it was necessary to take the skin off the phone in order to diagnose/service it. It wasn't long before the skin was all stretched out, and I wasn't too sure it would stay on by itself much longer. So I filed a claim to get it replaced. Before the replacement arrived, the phone was dropped on 2 different occasions. I was glad that the skin mostly stayed on, as it still protected the phone. Now that I have the replacement skin, however, I am afraid to take it off in order to remove the one speck that somehow got under the protecting screen when I put on its replacement--as I don't want this skin to also get all stretched out, too.
I have had a couple of the otter box covers for other phones. The rubber part held up really good on those. This one for the Samsung galaxy 3 only lasted about 8 months. It started stretching out till it would not fit in the case. Just e-mailed them and they sent me a new one. Great warranty, hope this one last longer. Still best product to keep your phone safe.
I love the protection that the silicon skin provides for my cell phone but after using it only a few months, it became distorted and loose, and only stayed attached to the phone because it was plugged into the charging port and earphone port. I used it in a belt clip and at the point where the clip attached to the phone, the silicone skin tore loose and made it difficult to attach to the belt clip.
The defender series I have enjoyed and have not be able to find another company that comes close. However the silicone skin after six months become stretched out and will not fit, rendering the defender useless. Shortly after you replaced my defender the plastic holder broke. With the replacement I have enjoy this product another 6 months. Until the skin stretched out again, I ordered another skin, but shortly after the plastic cover broke again. Now I have to just carry in hand or pocket my phone with the silicone skin. I have another year contract with this phone. Wish you could make a longer lasting product.
The Defender Silicon Skin works just fine as long as you put it on once and never remove it. I have found that taking the case off for maintenance purposes, renders the skin stretched out and unable to secure properly. However the warranty replacement program is great. File a claim and receive a replacement within a week or so.
Requested a replacement after the initial one provided with the case would not conform to the shell anymore. Waiting on the replacement, but the current skin is loose on the sides andends of the case, making it hard to mount back in the hip holster. I have other friends who have the same problem with it "streching out" over time. Might be something in the material used where normal temps expand the material. I found by placing in the freezer overnight that the skin would contract slightly to better fit the case, but eventually stretches out again.
