An excellent product for the gear box of your off-road motorcycle. You get a gallon for the price of a quart of boutique oils. I have run Rotella for 15 years and never a problem. I get long clutch and bearing life.
I've been changing oil every 5000 miles using Shell Rotella since 2000 in my Ford 7.3 diesel and am very satisfied with this oil. Have not had any oil related problems what ever. Pulled bumper and 5th wheel trailers through Colorado mountains: a horse trailer up steep rocky roads in Missouri. This truck is used hard, Rotella is my oil.
I've been using Rotella T4 for a long time in my semi truck engine. Newer had any problems. When you change the oil in the engine you can tell that it's Rotella, because it has specific scent no other oil has. Great product.
I use this twice a year changing out all my motorcycles oil. Never had a problem, last as long if not longer then the more expensive motorcycle oils for tappets. I can tell I need a change when the gear dogs click louder than normal. I get about 2500 miles out of a change in my old air cooled shared sump bikes. I'm sure I could go longer, oil still looks nice when I drain it. I just prefer to change it at manufacturer intervals. I then use the used oil in my mowers for a half season of more. Have one mower that's been going strong for 11 years, still doesn't smoke and starts every time. Wouldn't trust anything else in my old fleet of tappet head bikes.
Although this product has many modern applications, I use Rotella 15W-40 and 10W-30 in all my antique tractors that call for 30 and 40 weight oil. It's much better than what they've been run on for the bulk of their life and has no doubt extended the lives of their old engines.
The Turbo Diesel Register did an in depth analysis of a wide range of died engine oils, including some very pricey synthetics. I had just purchased my first diesel,a '02 Dodge 24valve Cummins, and was researching what oil to use. I run Amsoil products in my Harley and was surprised to find that the Rotella T ranked in the top 5 of this analysis. It can be viewed on the Geno'garage website /Tech information. I change my oil at 10k mile intervals and I am sure if I had it tested, it could go further. Great product.
My 1994 F350 7.3L with 270k seemed to idle a little rougher running T3 but when I took the leap on running T4 I couldn't be happier. My diesel runs like a brand new truck and no more leaking! My truck has been brought to a new level with Shell Rotella T4 15w-40 ! Very excited to see how she runs the next 3 to 4k miles ! Definitely an eye opening experience in my journey with this truck .
I use it in all my small engines sae30 and t4 in my powersports. Never lets me down
I and many others I know use this oil because it has the high zinc we need for flat tappet cams. I have a 1972 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 440 and so far no problems.
I live in Canada and store my oil in an unheated shop. Twice I have cracked open a new 5 gal oil pale, dumped it into an engine and had table spoon sized ice chunks come out. The oil is good quality but the pales allow moisture to get in. Use a screen.
