If you are a home-brewer, this is by far the best cooler for the money you can use as a mash tun (soak your grains to get the malts and sugars out). When you add the strike water at 158 degrees, it will hold the temperature to 152 degrees after an hour, with a couple of stirs. Everyone I know who home brews (all grain) has one or two of these.
This is the perfect size I need!…probably need to order 2 more the same!
We live in the country and have a well for everything but drinking. We use these coolers to hawl water. The spout on one of them starting leaving one gallon of water every day so I decided it was time, after 35 years, to get a new one. The cooler itself is great, but the new twist on lid stinks. It doesn't seal. If you fill the cooler full, you end up looking like you wet your pants, even if someone helps you. PLEASE bring back the old style lid that pushed into the jug. they were and still are 100% better than the new one.
I love the cooler itself, and hate how much it leaks. I often will wrap it with several beach towels when we go on a trip and they are completely wet by the time we get there. Have you considered designing a retro-fit rubber ring that people could buy to make it leak-proof? I would buy one in an instant if you did.
Love the size and the fact that it keeps the contents cold. It isn’t our first cooler, but just like the last one, on a windy day, the lid flew off! Just really disapointed that we have to buy a whole new cooler since the lids arr almost impossible to find or extremely high priced. Hold on to your lids people!!!! I would recommend this is the lids where made inna way that they would stay on securely.
We bought 20 of these for our bicycling club and in two years, have seen six lids lost. They are fine if transported inside a vehicle but in the wind, the lids come off and fly away. I'm disappointed that Rubbermaid has not modified the design after many reports of lost lids and also doesn't offer a lid replacement option.
Ok, just about everyone has at least one of these coolers. They are handy, work well, and are great for camping, large groups, etc. HOWEVER, how many reviews must you read that the lid flew off going down the road before you guys are going to A) come up with a better product, or B) Make an affordable lid that we can buy separately?! Yes, we love our coolers. Yes, it's hot out and my contractor husband made the mistake of taking this cooler onsite so his crew could have cold water. Yes, the lid blew off on the way home. I happened to be barely behind him going home so I tried to find it but to no avail. Come ON, Rubbermaid. You are better than this.
I bought the 10 Gallon Water cooler 6 months ago, have used it 6 times. I absolutely hate the design. The screw on lid, well DISAPPEARED on my last trip. It does not tighten up as advertised and leaks horribly. I do NOT recommend this cooler if you or your friends/family like leaving ultra smooth paved roads for the outback. On a 95 degree day, a 20 LB bag of ice melted in 7 hours. Size wise, it is great, the design is terrible, and the headaches are not worth it. I think I'll buy one from the competitor this next week. Oh and the spigot, it doesn't pour a stream out, it allows your water to run out the spigot, down the plastic side of the cooler and on to the ground, if you're lucky to have a slight tilt towards you, if not, it will soak your table, interior or whatever you don't want wet, except your cup. Will not buy another Rubbermaid "Commercial" product again.
We bought two of them cause they was 10 gallons. But the lids leak around the top, they don't seal tight enough. Other then that I would rate this a 5 star. Cause it keeps drinks cold.
I bought two of these to use with our group it made great, other then the lid wont stop it from leaking out, u can't fill it up and put it in ur truck cause it splashes out the lid, when it closed...... if that was fixed I would give it a 5 star all the way cause it keeps the drink cold.
